“I’m going to do this. I’m -going- to -do- this. Nothing to be scared over. She won’t be mad.” Mav lied openly to herself. She closed her eyes tight for a moment and tried to catch her bearings. Mav started to laugh quietly, but it still echoed in the small bathroom. How in the hell did she get herself into these situations? It wasn’t that she was careless. As a matter of fact, she had tried to be very careful. Mav hadn’t had intentions of this happening the way it did. But, it did and so now she was in a fix. An absolutely gloriously wonderful.. fix.
Mav opened her eyes, and turned the faucet on. She leaned down slowly and splashed the cold, running water onto her face with cupped hands. The feeling cleared her mind a little and she stood again. She gazed into the mirror. Examined her wild, dark hair. The light golden complexion of her skin. Her dark brown, almond shaped eyes. She could be disfigured after this. So she wanted to remember exactly what she had looked like before she spoke to her mother.
Mav absentmindedly turned the water off, then walked into the main room. It was open, much like a loft. Her eyes searched for him. With in seconds, she had found him and her heart did a little flip. “ Lover. I’m going to go home for a bit. I think..it’s time to face her.” Mav closed the distance that lay between them. He grabbed her hands between his “Are you sure you want to do this? You sound... Scared”
Mav looked down at him and pulled one of her hands away from his. She gently stroked the side of his head. Mav couldn’t help but smile at him. He was so much for her. So wonderful. “ I have to do it eventually, and the longer I wait, the more likely it is, that she’s going to behead me.” Her voice was a bit shaky, but she tried to sound amused.
He chuckled at her comment “I wish you didn't go, but I know I can't stop you, my love…“ His right hand caressed her cheek, fingers sliding softly on her skin. “So go, and know that I'm with you.” Mav eyed him for a moment. Her mouth half opened, ready to speak to him again. She wanted more than anything to ask him to go with her.
A thought ran through her mind. It could go two ways, with him there, either Shikon would welcome him, and curse Mav silently. Or she would go after Mav and Mav would have to use him as a shield. She almost laughed at the last thought. It would be like trying to pummel Heimdag.
Her mouth closed and she simply smiled at him, then kissed his forehead softly. She didn’t say another word, just turned and walked out of his apartment, then, out of the building. She sighed as the night air washed over her. She inhaled deeply, the scent of the water. It was a small distraction from the trial that awaited. But soon, even this didn’t give her an excuse to procrastinate any longer. Mav painstakingly pulled a teleport scroll from her waistband and spoke the location. “Morgonheim.”
She appeared in front of the large manor, high black gates looming above her head. ~ Mother. Let me in. I need to speak to you. It’s important.~ She sent the telepathic message to Shikon and waited.

Shikon was in her ingredients room, when the thought came to her. ~ Mother. Let me in. I need to speak to you. It’s important.~
Shikon put the vial down she had been holding. ~Why? So you can tell me how you have been drunk? And how you have disgraced the name?~
Shikon left her room and locked the door behind her. She made her way downstairs and to the intercom. She looked at the monitor. There stood her beast. Outside the gate, she looked quite well, surprisingly. The hair was neat, not matted like the last time she had seen her. Her eyes didn’t appear to be glazed from drink.
~No.. Something else. PLEASE DON'T BE DIFFICULT! This is hard enough as it is.~
Shikon waited for a long moment, then snorted to herself as she relented and opened the gates.
~Fine. You come in. But you be on best behavior.~
~Thank you. Tell Victor I have permission!!!~
Shikon moved to the front double doors and opened the door. She stood there arms crossed waiting for MavericksChild. “Victor is busy. Best behavior.” She stepped back as MavericksChild got closer to the door. She looked her over carefully. She even sniffed surreptitiously. She didn’t smell inebriated. She didn’t even smell like she had been drinking.
The Asian eyes narrowed. What was the Beast up to? She looked hesitant. Why would her Beast hesitate? Did her Beast hesitate when she left rotten bloated corpse in kitchen sink? No. Did her Beast hesitate when she plotted to kill her sister? No.
What had her Beast done? What could possibly be so bad she asks, not demands, entrance? Shikon listened carefully, there were no human sirens soundings. Had she started a city wide war? This would not be a reason for hesitation. This would be a celebration. She tensed noticeably as the iterations of doomsday proportions ran through her mind.

The gates slowly opened and Mav simply stared in awe. After a few seconds, her brows knit in confusion. She’d -never- gotten into the house this easy before. Did Shikon already know somehow?! Maybe, she had been in Mav’s room and smelled their mingled scents?! Mav cursed herself. She -knew- she shouldn’t have snuck him in!!! “Damn. Well, this is it. I’m dead. She’s making this easy, so she doesn’t have to waste a teleport to me to kill me. “ Mav threw her arms up in the air as she walked the gravel driveway towards the house.
Well, if she was found out, there was no point in being nervous. Before, she might have walked into the situation, begging for forgiveness. Pleading maybe, for her mother to understand. Maybe, she still would. But now, she had to be ready for her Mother to strike before she spoke. She slowed her walk, just a bit, to prolong the inevitable. Her mind drifted back to him for a moment. She saw his smile. He was always smiling at her. This made her smile like a fool as she walked. And before she knew it, Mav was walking up the front steps.
Her eyes focused on Shikon and a wave of adrenaline washed through her. This might be do or die at this very moment. She couldn’t back down now. Mav could have stayed with him, in his arms, safe. But she had chosen to come and so she would do what she’d come for. Even if Shikon already knew. Mav placed her hand on the hilt of her knife and locked eyes to Shikon as she covered the last stair. She studied body posture instantly. Yet, Shikon was difficult to read. Mav walked into the house and moved directly for the sitting room, which was off to the right.
“ I know it was wrong. But we were only here for one night. Punish me if you want, but I’m not completely sorry.” Mav spoke over her shoulder to Shikon, and then turned to face her, ready to slit her throat if need be.

Shikon glares narrowly at Mav. Who is this we... she speaks of. "You think I would not find out? You think I did not know?" Who was the ‘we’?
Mav's brows furrowed in a bit of confusion. Shi either didn't recognize his scent, or was just trying to get Mav to admit. “You don't know...?”
Shikon watched Mav as she circled around her partially then purposely broke the look and turned her back on her. Shikon quickly ran the options. She didn’t know, but she refused to admit it. Truth be told she had not been home herself of late. “Bah. It sneaking... and secrecy. You hide more than a randy fling.” Mav contemplated her mother's words. She hummed in response to this reaction. When she had walked in that door, she had thought Shikon would have her gutted two steps in the house. But no. She was acting odd. "Come sit down. You're right. I've been hiding something. And I came tonight to tell you"
True she was grasping, and she had played her hand with the comment about a fling, because the odds were just as good that she had sired someone unworthy. But a ‘fling’ could be used to describe an unworthy siring, if it need be. But there had to be more than Mav sneaking a male in the home. Unless it was… The name that came mind, nearly made her wretch. Yes, Mav having a dalliance with him would make Mav fear to speak. Shikon whirled on Mav. “Why should I allow this?!”
Mav took a step back instinctively at Shikon's words. "Allow what? Will you please come sit down?"
Shikon seethed, and it clearly showed. Anyone but ‘that’ one! He made her skin crawl. Shikon paced, she was too keyed up to sit. Think logically, she told herself, you do not sense him. Someone... perhaps... no, she could not tell. She was to upset. She paced quickly, arms crossed tightly over her chest. “Too Fast!” She uttered harshly. She wasn’t speaking to Mav, but it would sound like it. In truth, Shikon was annoyed that things were happening too fast for her run all the iterations.
Mav watched the tiny woman closely. In a normal situation, Mav would be ready to attack. She might even make a preemptive strike. But here, she knew that she was vulnerable. Not because she feared physical violence. It was disappointment she feared and she was receiving a fine dose of it. "MOTHER STOP! This is important. Please." She tried to speak clear. To catch Shikon's attention through the rage she seemed to be building herself into. Maybe it was too fast. Maybe she was right. But Mav refused to regret opening her heart to him. She'd been severed less than a month, but she'd known him years. This wasn't some fool hearted fling. "Come and sit for a moment. And if you want to gouge my eyes out after... I won't fight you."
While she paced, she second-sighted the vile one that made her gut wrench, he was in shadows. Deep shadows. She forced herself to calm down. The odds were against it being him. This happened about the same time as her Beast shouted at her. Shikon paused in her pacing. Forcing calmness she did not feel, she moved closer to Mav. The simple statement ‘I won’t fight you’ gave her yet another feeling of unease. She had no idea what was about to happen, the feeling of dread in the pit of her stomach grew. Was the Beast going to sever Heim?! No... This could not happen. She steeled herself to hear those horrible killing words. “Fine.” She moved to one the wingback chairs across the room from Mav. “I am listening.”

Mav looked at her for a moment. Her first instinct was to bury her face in her hands and hide. But she didn't. Instead, she sat a little taller and did her best to not look like a nervous wreck. "I've come to you... because when Legion severed me, you were there for me. You acted out of character in giving me deep sympathy. You showed love to me, in my time of pain. When it counted." Mav took a deep breath and looked to Shikon again. “I feel a bit nervous of your reaction here, because I know this is quick. But... I've fallen in love with someone."
Shikon could not help the angry ire that bubbled forth as she listened to Mav. Oh yes she appreciated that Shikon showed her concern, but now she will leave them. This will kill Heim. It could send him into eternal slumber. Her internal ranting veered rather abruptly, at Mav’s confession. The Beast wished to start her own line with this new love. It was not unheard of. It was expected really. It is just she had not expected it of her beast... so soon after… She broke her thoughts abruptly. She folded her hands in her lap. “I see.” She said nothing more. She merely looked at her, waiting for the rest.
Mav could feel the anger boiling over from Shikon. Mav looked down at the dark hardwood floor, her lashes fluttered against her cheek as she held back tears. She was just an emotional wreck these nights. Even when she had thought she'd gotten over the last hump, it began again. "You know him."
The Beast would do as she would. She was an adult. Shikon learned the lesson the hard way about dissuading someone out of their decisions. It never worked. Patience was needed in times like this. Her anger dissolved into overwhelming pain. She was losing her Beast, and losing her to someone she knew. Someone she would have to be civil too, it seemed. She could not trust herself to speak. Her hands which has been calmly clasped, now exhibited white knuckles born of pain. She nodded slowly, trying... no fighting to get her voice under control. “You will have to tell Heimdag.” If the Beast were going to leave them, Shikon would not do her dirty work for her.
"You know I love Father more than life it's self. And I will tell him. But it was you I was concerned about. You've been there for me, when he slumbered. You've been the only thing keeping me going sometimes. I think you know that. I mean, I hope you know that." Mav cast her dark eyes upward and gazed at Shikon again. “I love you both. And now I love him too. I'd like to bring him here... For an official visit in time. Are you angry that this has happened?" her voice shook a bit at her last inquiry.
‘In time’? Shikon frowned. She was confused. “Angry you have found someone? No. Angry that there is more you need to say... spit it out!”
"I've been with him for... a couple of weeks now? I've known him for years. As a matter of fact, he was one of the first to have killed me in war." She didn't want to outright say his name. There were things at work here. Family ties that needed to be considered. She wasn't sure how Shikon would take Mav being with this man.
“Go on... say it all. I not get younger.” Her voice was strained. The hands were clasped and re-clasped. The Beast enjoyed this pain she was causing. Yes she wanted it over, but then another part of her realized that as soon as the words were uttered, things would no longer be the they had been. Her Beast would be far removed from her.

It had been about an hour since Mav had left. He trusted her much, he knew she was strong. Yet he also knew Shikon a bit, and thus was worried. He could not say how Shikon would exactly react... but it might not be good for Mav, for sure. He could not stop walking from wall to wall at his place, thinking, hand in chin, concentrated... 'should I have gone with her?' he wondered, then shook his head like trying to get rid of a bad idea 'No, it's a Family issue, at least initially Mav needs to talk with Shikon alone and by herself' he thought... However, he was still worried. Twenty minutes more passed, and his boots could have started leaving a trail in the floor if he continued... but he could not. He could not resist the need to know what was going on, how Mav was doing. 'Bah, to Hell with it! I'll go there and see what I can do...' he grumbled, then grabbed his overcoat and rode his bike down to Morgonheim. Once there he would see how to gain entrance in the mansion; he knew it might not be easy, he had heard about Victor... but in the end, Victor was a human. He chuckled at the thought, and accelerated his ride into the night...
Apparently he remembered the way quite well; he arrived at Morgonheim in a few minutes and parked the bike in the next block; the more cautious he was, the more chances he would have of entering without problems... though he would hardly prefer that. He walked fast and silent to Morgonheim's wall; the main gates were around the corner, he'd rather not take the main entrance. He bended on his knees, then jumped, landing on the top of the wall. Crouching down, he watched inside the limits of the property. It was quiet as he expected: Victor was vigilant but surely he was also a bit self confident, as most humans were... also with Mav already inside, Victor might relax a bit... and he was ready to take advantage of that.
Jumping down in the park, he started running in zig zag among the trees, watching the cameras' movements. Night was helping him, since a few clouds covered the full moon above, shadows engulfing his surrounds. Two sprint potions after, he had his back against the mansion's wall, just next to the service door. He leaned his ear against the door, listening. There was silence. He tried on the door knob, but of course it would not move. That was expectable. He looked into his pockets till he found his old picklock. After a few seconds the door was open, and he entered Morgonheim's kitchen. It was big and a bit messy, yet clean. He covered his head with his hood, wondering where Victor could be, then he heard a sound coming from ahead: Some heavy and kind of slow steps... he slipped behind the door, took his dagger out, and waited.

Victor frowned the silent alarm was blinking. Not from the main entrance, had his Mistress Shikon forgotten to disengage it. No, it was from the rear entrance. The servants entrance.
Of course Victor had monitored the main gate, it was his job. So he knew Miss Maverick was in the house. But he also remembered what Miss Maverick was sneaking, conniving and totally underhanded. This meant that the silent alarm was of her doing.
The fact the Mistress Shikon had verified Miss Maverick’s arrival meant nothing. He knew her kind. She would smile to your face as her cohorts disemboweled you from the rear. Well if Miss Maverick thought he was that easily taken in, she would be sorely mistaken.
Victor slowly exposed the end of his weapon from a corner. He aimed the super-soaker at the intruder. He droned in his bored, and tired voice “Good Sir, if you are human, then I suggest you leave before I raise alarm. If however you are, of another ‘unworldly’ kind, then I suggest you take a hasty retreat before I unleash the multiple blessings of Father MaGaphaffgie upon you.”
Yes, Victor had hoped to use the holy-water filled super-soaker on Miss Maverick. But using it on her accomplice would suffice nicely as well.

TheHood hears Victor's speech and realizes it would not be a wise move to try to attack him now... So instead he speaks from behind the door. “I hear you, Victor. I might not take a retreat, and I am armed too. So what if instead of making a no sense mess in your kitchen, we talk this out?” He chuckles and waits for the butler's answer. Victor mulled the words over. It was clear the intruder was well informed about the household; because the stranger knew his name. Yes, Miss Maverick had taught this one well. Or… Victor paused. Granted he was never in a rush to do anything, but in this precise case, he was loath to do anything speedy. He lifted the end of the super-soaker up to a 45 degree angle. “And what, pray tell, Young Master, should we discuss?” A few seconds passed until an answer was heard. Victor was no fool for sure: The fact that he had worked for the af Gyllenstierna family for so many years was a proof of that. When TheHood heard an answer different than 'NO' he relaxed a bit, then spoke from behind the door. “Well, first of all I guess you would like to know my reasons for trespassing into the property... And also I think it's not very comfortable that both of us are tense and hiding from each other... If you agree, I'm ready to drop my weapon if you throw yours too, and see our faces.”Victor was not quite ready to release his weapon. If the intruder were a vampire, when he presumed, the intruder could make mince meat of him without a weapon. So the intruder could lose his weapon and still have the upper hand over Victor. Victor stepped out into the open, the weapon slung, though he still cradled it, just in case. “You will forgive me if I am inclined to keep my weapon. And, instead of explanations, I believe introductions are order. You know my name, but I am at a loss as to yours." As Victor spoke, TheHood chuckled, amused. He had thought the butler might fall for it and stay unarmed with a vampire, but the fool had been himself instead. Serving a vampiric Family, Victor should know a lot about them. So he answered, “Ok, you're right in keeping your weapon... As a sign of good will, I will throw mine.” That said, TheHood crouches and slides his dagger along the kitchen's floor. “Now I will step out so we can see our faces” He removes his hood and slowly moves away from behind the door, facing Victor, inclining head slightly. “Here you can see my face now. My name, however, needs to be kept unknown to anyone but your Mistress, Shikon.” Victor did not recognize this vampire. But his over all bearing made Victor quite glad, he was not pushing the issue via violence. For, Victor would have lost that battle, even with the weapon. “Yes, quite. I doubt Mistress Shikon would be pleased to know you ‘broke’ in. Therefore I suggest we proceed to her location and make no mention of said breaking and entering?” TheHood was quite surprised by how quickly it happened; he thought Victor would take longer to be charmed. But that didn't matter, the important thing was that he was going to get to see Shikon - and Mav - now. “I would be pleased if we proceeded that way, Victor. Please, lead the way.”Victor intoned in his dry butler voice, “Suffice to say good sir, I would prefer you to take the lead.” He was not about to turn his back on this vampire. The quicker he could get him to Shikon, the safer Victor would feel. Victor took a step back, so that he could pass him. “Through the hallway and to your left, then up the stairs, if you please Sir.” TheHood chuckled as Victor spoke. “Well, we have a little issue here, You do not trust me enough as to turn your back on me, and that I understand... However, why should I trust you enough as to do myself?” He opened his arms, showing his palms. “I threw my weapon though you did not... Now I think maybe it's your time to show some good manners too?” He slightly tilted his head to the side, waiting. “Ah, then alas, we are indeed, at an impasse. I would not be doing due diligence to my Mistress, to allow an uninvited guest to be lead unwatched through the household; as I am sure you would agree, should it be your household in question.” Victor paused before continuing in a slightly lighter tone. “It does do my heart good to see that these old bones do evoke some trepidation on your part.” A soft laugh came out from the vampire's throat. He nodded to Victor, “Well of course, all this time working for the Family means you're good at what you do, Victor. Why you think I would have thrown my dagger if not? Now, being that I agree with your position but still would not take it... Can't we think of any other solution?” “Since you have my name, and I do not have yours. And you are in our abode, and not in yours. You have the advantage of speed, strength, and agility, and I do not. It would seem a gesture of goodwill on your part, to acquiesce to this tired old man’s wishes.” TheHood shakes his head smiling, “You're quite a very reasoning man, Victor... Ok, I will concede but, I need to ask you something” He starts walking the way Victor had told him earlier, turning back to check the butler was following, “You should introduce me to Mistress Shikon, right? You could not do that if I entered before you...” “Indeed, a point well taken. Once we get close I shall take the lead.” Victor allowed the vampire to take the lead. As they start up the stairs, Victor hears hushed voices from the front room. “Excuse me Sir,.. if you will come this way?” Victor had left Shikon upstairs, he had presumed she had returned up there, but apparently, she had not. Victor stepped off the stairs and opened the double doors to the front room, “Mistress you have a guest.” He then stepped aside to let the vampire enter in front of him. As Victor spoke TheHood turned back and saw the butler leading to the double doors behind. - Mistress, you have a guest - Victor said. The vampire breathed in deeply, and walked to the doors. He nodded to Victor, respectfully, then in one single movement he threw his hood over his head, and stepped in the room, “Good evening...” He saw Mav and Shikon. He bowed towards them. “Shikon... Mav...”( This was a joint post by Victor Ashbury & TheHood )

Mav opened, and closed her mouth a few times. Each time, words rest right at the tip of her tongue. But every thing that she could think to say, felt wrong to her. How do you make the most stubborn woman, probably of all time, understand? She knew that Shikon was capable of love. Shikon loved Heimdag, without a doubt. She loved Mav, on some level. But she was also unforgiving, cold and calculated. Shikon did nothing without a full laid out blue print of the situation and all possible outcomes.
His name danced in her mind. She should just blurt it out. Just say it and let it be over with. If her mother accosted her over it, then so be it. She choose to be with him, knowing that Shi might have a problem with him. No, not him. Mav being with him. She vaguely heard Victor’s dull voice coming down the hall. She heard someone else too and her only response was to freeze. She had wished for him to accompany her, but deep down, she had feared it. Feared the reaction of those in her household.
Hell had the potential to break loose here. She might be held with the decision, him, or her family. Mav sighed softly. So Shikon wasn’t upset over her having found love again. Now, she had to worry about how Shi would take who it was with. Shi’s voice echoed through her mind ‘You can not do this to your sister. I kill you myself. No. End it now.’
“I… I’m not sure where to start.” She began hesitantly again. She looked at Shikon, and she wished she could just plead with the woman to understand.
“Mistress you have a guest.” Victor spoke, interrupting Mav. Her eyes darted over to the guest and she gasped as he entered the room. His identity was hidden from Shikon. Mav didn’t know what he was thinking and it made her all the more nervous.
“Good evening...” He saw Mav and Shikon. He bowed towards them. “Shikon... Mav...”
Mav stood instantly at his words. She thought that it was over. Shikon would surly recognize his voice. How could she not? Mav opened her mouth again, this time thinking to greet him, but instead, she spilled her words. “ Mother, this is him.”

Shikon had wanted Mav to say it. To just get it over with. To make it final. But Mav was dragging her feet, barely allowing words to escape, when things sped up. Victor informs her she has a visitor, a visitor that knows her, and Mav was relieved.
“Mother, this is him.”
Shikon rose to her feet. It was only polite. There were protocols that were to be followed. The visitor’s face was covered and his voice was muffled. She inclined her head briefly towards the visitor and looked back at Mav. “He come to save you? Do your dirty work for you? You can not tell me yourself?”
It was bad enough she was about to lose her beast, but knowing that she didn’t even get the luxury of hearing it first hand from Mav hurt even worse. How would she tell Heimdag? How would he take it? She looked back toward her guest, and then past him. “Victor refreshments please.” Her voice was flat. She knew she should at least make an effort to be civil. But why? This person was stealing her beast from her. He should be happy she didn’t tell Victor to use the ‘special’ tea.
Her nerves were on edge, and Mav’s obvious joy at seeing her new sire, made her even more irritable. She looked at the visitor, she didn’t even try to sound polite, “Why you wear hood inside? It is rude.” Why should she be polite, he comes to her home to steal her beast. She clinched her jaw and narrowed her eyes, as she wondered if she should manage to lock them both in the dungeon...

The visitor paid attention to Shikon's words and reactions. He knew he was walking on thin ice since the very moment he saw the expression in her face. Still, he had nothing to fear about, so he wasn't nervous. Shikon had rose to her feet and greeted him, slightly inclining her head.
“He come to save you? Do your dirty work for you? You can not tell me yourself?” He gasped as Shikon spoke to Mav with those words. His intention wasn't to make trouble, kinda the opposite... but that did not depend only on him.
After asking Victor to bring some refreshments, Shikon looked at him. He thought frustration was taking her expression over, but could not understand the reason... "Why you wear hood inside? It is rude.”
He nodded at Shikon, looking slightly down to her feet "I beg your pardon for my appearance. I'm not here to save anyone but to speak with you. As for my hood... my bad, I apologize" That said, his hands grabbed the hood and pulled it back, showing his face under the room lights.

evilive observed Shikon's narrowed eyes and wondered what might be running through her mind...
"I apologize for the hood detail..., I had my reasons for doing that before, not anymore, though, and even less in front of you, Shikon"
He could feel the tension in the air, still not understanding why. evilive had known Mav and Shikon for quite some long time, and wondered why she looked so frustrated... Not angry, since Shikon would scarcely show someone she was angry. But what he could definitely say is that she was not happy at all. He stood there, waiting

Mav took a small step backwards. It seemed that her mother was almost spitting venom now that evil had made an appearance. So it would be as she thought. She would be punished for loving him. Other families often didn’t understand the ways of the Gyllenstierna house. But even though Mav strived to best her parents, and sometimes did. Ultimately, they were the elders. They were the mentors. She fought against them, but when she felt they were truly angry, she took punishment with no argument.
So, Instead of igniting her anger, Shikon sparked a feeling of defeat in Mav. She listened to them speak. She studied body language. She wanted to move towards evil and be close to him. He took his hood off and she wanted to smile at him, but Mav with held. Shikon was being uncharacteristically rude. Mav didn’t know for sure if Shi knew it was evilive before, but no denying it now.
Her dark eyes moved from Shi, to evil’s face. He was apologetic for Shi’s perceived rudeness. “You don’t need to apologize so much evil. She’s being rude as well.” Mav finally spoke. There was something about seeing him before Shikon profusely apologizing that sparked her into action. Mav saw him as a rock. Unbreakable, yet he humbled himself so easily. Maybe that was one of the reasons she had fallen for him. She had never known the soft side of evilive before. The side that whispered how much he loved her before sleep. The side that couldn’t stop smiling at her.
Mav carefully walked a little closer to him, but still not close enough to touch. She didn’t want to enrage Shikon more at the moment, and she wasn’t sure if it would be the straw that broke the camels back.

“Rude?” Shikon looked heavenward, as she tried not to fly off the handle. Her voice level dropped to an ominous low, “Forgive me, if I am not overjoyed that our Eldest is severing.”
“My manner tend to fail me, when I am faced with how to tell Heimdag that his Precious is leaving us..” her gaze moved from Mav to evilive, “.. to sire to his ‘Brother’.” She crossed her arms and turned away sharply.
“You have to tell this to Heimdag. I will not break his heart.” She stalked away from them, as far as she could manage and still be in the same room. Her back was to them. Yes, outwardly it would look rude; but Shikon was close to breaking down. She willed herself not to do this in front of them. Never display weakness in public. And even though she was in her own home, at this moment, she felt the world was watching her. By turning her back, she bought herself precious seconds she used to help keep control of her emotions.
Memories of the others that had severed before, clouded her mind. She had just woken, and they were gone. She had pushed it out of her mind then. Ignored it. What was done, was done. Do not dwell. The past is the past. How many times had she said this to others. And yet, now, those words taunted her.
She looked at her hand. It trembled. She tightened it into a fist. She set her jaw, and squared her shoulders before finally turning to look at them again.

evilive was surprised, and not in a happy way; things were not going the way he had expected... He did not even get time to react when they spoke, first Mav, then Shikon, one right after the other... He stood there, listening and watching Shikon. What was she talking about? Siring? She then turned her back on him; he took that moment to look at Mav with a soft smile, hoping she would understand. His lips moved like saying "It will be ok", though no sound would be heard. He chuckled in silence, strangely amused for the confussion, even in middle of such a tension... Shikon turned back facing them, fist tightened, with her oriental narrowed shifty eyes aimed at him. He was confused still, yet he knew it was his chance of fixing things up, and seeing Shikon's face, he'd better try to do that fast. So he spoke:
"Shikon, you know how much respect I have always held for you and Heimdag... and of course I can understand how you feel for thinking Mav would sever Heim! but I can't help wondering, where did you get that idea from? There's no way I would even think of siring Mav! I think there has been a huge confussion in here..."
His mouth turned into a sincere smile before he could continue...
"I simply love your daughter"
