Lyric closed her eyes taking a deep breath, she could almost taste the fear dripping off her human prey. She stalked slowly after him, keeping to the shadows not yet wanting him to know that he was her target. Instead, she wanted his own fear and paranoia to sweeten his blood before she fed.
Hmmm, quick to fear.
Slowly, her lips twitched into a satisfied smile. He looked continuously over his shoulder, searching the darkness. But always he found nothing behind him save the empty street.
Her heart began to keep pace with his quickening steps, the thrill of this hunt was nearly too much for her. Lyric wanted so much to rip into the flesh of his throat.
No not just yet...
She told herself over and over. It was still too soon, she knew he needed to be truly afraid, truly in horror for his life.
Her dark green eyes watched him and his every move closely. She took note of his heavy breath, and how he seemed to stumble every other step; as if he was tripping on his own nightmares.
For what seemed like ages, she followed the pitiful human, coursing through the dark streets of RavenBlack. He seemed almost lost, unsure of where to go to escape the invisible threat that his mind believed was there, though never saw.
Patience pet...
She couldn't help but laugh in her own mind at the creature's folly. Certainly he must know that in RavenBlack, it's not wise for a human to stroll the streets alone. It was no secret that the city's majority were darklings; the vampires of horror and legend.
Without warning, the human made his final, most fatal mistake; he cornered himself.
...and now...you're mine.
Stepping quietly from the shadows, Lyric presented herself to her prey. Her lithe form and sweet face made her seem safe and un-threatening. Her prey let go his breath slowly in a sigh of relief believing no woman could do him harm.
In that instant, Lyric smiled. A dark hungry smile showing her true intent. Less than a single heart beat had passed before she was on him. Eagerly sinking her fangs deep into his tender flesh, drinking deeply.
As his sweetened vitae washed across her tongue and down her throat, Lyric's eyes fluttered lightly shut. Her mind drifted deeper into her hunger, thoroughly savouring the human's fear saturated blood.
Fear always made them taste better...
