Josephine, like many vampires of the city has earned her skills in all the expected areas of a young vampiress. She rose to what was considered her full power swiftly, mastering disciplines within her first year turned. While she has not been graced with the more mystical powers of many vampires her kindness and seeming sweetness seems to be its own attribute and also flaw.

Self dubbed as mousy and plain Josephine looks upon her large eyes with the strange haunting innocence as bland, human normal. Pale flawless skin marked as wan and while a bonus she barely noted herself as exotic. Delicate features with a teasing smile that easily spread over her lips. Hair that shimmered with highlights of cinnamon and true red was the constant bane for not being darker or the perfect shade of blond.
Her clothing style is modest and tends to wards a feminine appeal that mixed in with comfort. Khaki skirts, cotton skirts and sun dresses, to even business clothing; she is rarely found in pants. Her shoes tend to remain with only a faint indication of a heel, preferring to stand flat footed. Hair let either loose in messy waves or tied back in a prim ponytail or bun.
Cosmetics are not something the vampiress often indulges in and at most can be caught using chap-stick to help keep her lips at least looking soft. While no scars adorn her face the vampiress is not without her own marks. A long silvery scar runs across her belly from mid point to hips where she was nearly killed as a human- the mortal wounding that her sire took pity upon. Another smaller series of pock mock scars indicate where she had a run in with a holy water vial; another reason for her conservative clothing.
Josephine is not one for jewelry and often goes without even earrings to adorn herself trying to rather blend in with the human populace than reach further into the vampiric civilization.
Personality
Shy, modest, self effacing. Josephine could easily be described as such. Gentle, loving, loyal, and devoted; she focuses her time and energy on her family. She does not see herself as others would; believing herself to be lacking in most things Josephine places her sole talents on just the fact she does care. Those she loves hold that love forever and her anger fades swiftly from any who brought out her ire.
Being only two years into the world of eternal night Josephine sees everything with clear bright eyes and hope. Always she strives to give a kind word or at least something of encouragement. She is not one for vulgarity and often censors herself before cursing. At times she can be playful and goofy, but only to those she has warmed up to.
History
Born in 1985 to a newly wed couple fresh out of High School Josephine was the first granddaughter and first baby born in her family for some time. While she was loved as an infant her parents drifted apart and by the time she was two argued near constantly. Often times screams would come into her room at night accusing the other of infidelity and blaming 'that child' for the continued state of the marriage. At the age of five her parents decided to separate leaving the youngling in a state of transition. In divorce court she became a bargaining chip for parents she loved equally.
As she grew older her parents shared custody between them, each using her as an unwitting spy and pawn in their game. Slowly Josephine closed herself off, learning how to speak in ambiguous circles rather than giving any true information. Instead she had to endure stories of the other parent's poor behavior and how they wished to have left one another sooner.
Her parents did remarry and had children. Josephine embraced the new parents and siblings with open enthusiasm but shortly it became apparent that those families had no time for her. The step parents favored their children over this outsider child and her parents doted on babies held in wanted marriages. Through middle school and High school she drove herself to the top of her class. Always she pushed for the perfect report card, perfect recital, and scholarships in order to prove herself worthy enough to earn some of her parents love.
Her high school graduation set the tone for the next four years of her life. One parent stuck late at work and the other unable to attend because a half sibling had a school function that evening. Josephine walked to accept her diploma, gave her speech as head of her class, and went home alone from the final ceremony of her childhood. Two months late she was moving onto campus of a prominent college for her pre-med program studies.
Again she pushed herself, working to keep her GPA up as well as work to bring in her own money for schooling on top of scholarships and grants. Ambitious and studious; she drew attention for the quickness of wit and her willingness to aid others in her classes. It was her shy smiles and studious ways that drew her fiance's attention to her.
Erick slowly won his way into her heart. A year ahead of her in his degree program (something about film studies) he moved off campus and talked Josephine into moving in with him. Two years they spent together the obviously happy couple planning their modest wedding for the break just before entering her graduate program. All in all Josephine was happy and contented with her life. Working until late at night as a waitress while going to classes during the day didn't seem so bad when she had a fiance to go home to.
It was during this phase she met Abagail Boone-Lomax. Over a course of months they became close friends, laughing and chatting while Josephine waited tables. It was also during this time that Erick made a new friend of his own- Josephine's lab partner for organic chemistry.
Returning home one evening after work Josephine walked in on Erick and her supposed friend caught mid copulation was horrifying to the woman who had been always set aside as replaceable. To see the man she loved and who had promised her so much holding such intimacies with another sent her into shock and in reaction she turned and ran.
Fleeing through the night Josephine stopped to catch her breath, panting and leaning against the side of a building. Tears and night blinded her as the scene in her mind kept replaying in horrifying detail. It was the sound of footsteps over gravel that drew her from the hurt racing through her. Her attention flicking up wards in time to see her attacker stab her. The searing pain of the knife tearing through her flesh and the few words that passed the crazed man's lips were the last things she could focus upon.
Her sight dimmed and she only remembered screams after; inhumane shrieks of agony, the splatter of blood against her flesh, and Abagail's voice commanding her to wake-up and live. Her lips parted, wanting to tell her friend she was dead; dead and her body just had to realize it. The warm taste of copper filled her mouth and the night faded. Her turning done in mercy...
