She could feel herself slipping again...what was it...as soon as she could feel happiness growing in her heart something else had to happen to tear her as soon as the healing could begin. She could honestly say she would have preferred daily showers of holy water to continue upon her broken flesh and spirit rather than this.
"Well in truth it amounts to the same thing" passed through her mind. One's she had loved so dearly kept causing so much pain in her she could scarecely find her breath these cold nights. She thought back on her history wondering what she had done to deserve it. Had she somehow managed to wrong them? What had she done in her lifetime for karma to pass her such a jaded hand?
She looks deep into her mind delving herself into her memories whilst locked away in her tower in the Castle of AoD, which she had retained in order to preserve a home for her family and friends to gather with one-another. (the forum is still open for AoD friends/family/guests to rp with one-another along with the Ravenblack City Park and Club Dischord)
~*~*~*~*~*fading into her memories~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
"I Hate You! Just leave me alone!" pers screams her voice filling the room in anger. She ducks her head down as a chair comes crashing into the mirror just behind her.
"What do you think you're doing?" she cries out in desperation.
"You cheated on me! I can't believe you!" He shouts back throwing the vase of roses she had given him at her. She catches it in her right hand
"I never did! I promise! What you saw it wasn't what happened! He's just a friend! Honest..." she sobs trying to protect her head with her hands. "If you don't stop I'm going to go back to Joseph!" she threatens him.
"Go back to your lover. Forget I was ever yours. I never wish to see your face again!"
Tears streaming down her face she reads a Scroll of Teleportation it taking her to that Gothic Church where she was turned. Memories flood into her mind as she touches the familiar wood.
She had only been turned five years previous and been led to the fair city Ravenblack by her sire Joseph. She had granted her mortal life into the capable arms of a very religious family though this particular traditional lifestyle brought her much anquish. She was an outcast because of her beliefs. Her mother was kind and caring although she was a doormat for her overzealous husband and persephone's mortal father. He was cruel and strict. She had spent most of her childhood in rural areas until her father was offered a job in a suburb of Chicago.
She quickly adapted to city life. Her mannerisms changed and she soon forgot the safety of small towns until her parents decided that the gangs and drugs of the city were unsafe to raise their children in so the family was moved south to a small river town. Little did they know trouble would follow her there. She took with her books of the Craft, and soon was led to a mentor who she apprenticed under.
Wishing to escape her life and her father's treatment she began to meddle in creation. She had always had a gift for healing and she abused her ability due to her lack of guidance. Her gifts allowed her to create a world within the Realm of Shadows. The world was complete with creatures, living organisms, the inhabitants were beautiful people. She used parts of herself in each modeling them after traits she wanted or one's she had and excentuated them.
As time went on she spent more and more time in her hidden realm, her escape and found it harder and harder to leave. She started spending her time writing music and when she was practicing a piece she had written a well built male gothic transfer student stood outside listening to her play and sing. Her soul was carried on the song and it touched his undead heart. He waited for the song to finish and entered. It would be the start of a beautiful friendship between the two. They eventually dated and on her 18th birthday he took her to her first concert.
They stayed that night in a hotel in Chicago and unable to sleep pers decided to go for a stroll outside. As she left the door to the his room swung open as well. Though she didn't want to admit it she appreciated the company and especially having him near her. When he asked what was the matter she told him I was having nightmares and didn't feel like sleeping anymore. He smiled and pressed the button for the elevator.
He told her he had some friends who lived pretty nearby and asked her if she was interested in meeting them. persephone asked him if they would still be awake as it was nearly 3 in the morning. He assured her that they would be, with an air of complete knowledge. They traveled a few blocks this way and a few blocks that and arrived at an old large church. It was completely dark except a light in an upstairs window. Unnerved at going into a church at 3 am she followed behind him anyway. She took the stairs at a slow durge unsure what they were doing and reached for the door handle when the door swung open of it's own accourd. She jumped back into his arms with surprise.
He just laughed and led her inside to the inner sactuary. She could hear beautiful music playing yet could not locate the performer. It was very dark inside but she had grown accostum to it and found it alluring and energizing. He brought her to a secreted door and pointed a long pale finger the direction of an older gentleman in the corner of the room, indicating she should introduce herself.
Bowing she spoke "Hello I'm ashley, a friend of Joseph." He seemed to already have heard of her and she found it odd as Joseph had never spoke of visiting Chicago previously. Before she could request the older man's name he spoke.
"You have been brought here for a special reason young lady. We have a proposition for you. Are you happy with your life as it is?" She answered him with the truth although hesitantly because it felt that even of she lied to him he would know it,
"Well I have a couple great friends but I don't find myself happy very often." He then began again"
"I thank you for being honest with me, that shows me you are ready." Then Joseph began "Ashley I have something I need to tell you.."
"What? are you ok, Joseph?" she could feel the tears stinging in his eyes and could see he was struggling with the decision he had made.
"You know how I always stay up at night and prefer darkness right, well I am a vampire. And I want you to join our ranks." She was so shocked and would have never guessed that was what this was all about, unsure what to say she believed him he could never lie to me she could always see the truth in his eyes somehow and had always known it, it just clicked, something inside of pers yearned to join the undead. After a brief pause which felt like an eternity she softly replied
"What do I need to do?"
"Just hold still"
He drew near her and kissing her soft lips then started down my neck. It was so wonderful and she found herself wrapped up in the moment. She felt his fangs grow in his mouth as he nursed her pulsing vein. The blood sang to him and he drove his fangs into her neck draining her blood. Feeling the last of her life fleeting from her a tear escaped her eye and she collapsed in his arms knowing he would never harm her.
He continued to drink from her taking every last drop of blood within her body, leaving her lifeless and watching as her heart slowed to a stop and she took her last living breath. Her face lost it's once vibrant complexion and her now lifeless corpse and he kissed her lips softly drawing in the air from her stilled lungs. Laying her softly upon the chapel pew he parts her lips with his fingers then tears into his wrist with his own teeth holding back tears of his love for her. He drew her lips to his wrist and allowed the blood to fall upon her tongue.
He looked up at his mentor in the corner wondering if he was doing it correctly having never turned a mortal to his kind before. The elderly man nods his approval and he continues pouring the blood into her mouth. The blood winds it's way down her throat giving her cells nourishment and returning life to them, awakening them from the cold grip of death.
She begins to convulse in his arms and he panics crying out for the older man to help him. He did not want to lose her and though he knew there was a certain gamble turning her, her DNA could reject the vampiric strain and her fate sealed with her death. He can hear her screams of pain as life returns to her veins and her heart begins to beat once more. She gasps for breath her back arching into the air in seizure. Pain overcoming her limbs as her bosom rises and falls with new baited breath.
She briefly opens her eyes his face filled with relief being the only thing she can see his tears cascading over his eyes fall upon her cheek and a soft smile emerges from her succulent lips. "thank you..." the words scarcely escape her lips before weariness and fatigue grasp her and pull her into the hold of deep slumber.
She awoke some time later in her apartment the blinds drawn and just a sliver of moonlight draped across the soft covers of her bed. She asked herself if it had been only a dream yet knew it was reality. Joseph entered the room and asked her how she was feeling and informed her she was now a child of the night, and gave her the name persephone for she was to be a ruler in the world of the dead.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*back to present~*~*~*~*~*~
She is brought back to the present by the cold sensation of a tear on her cheek and the sound of a knock at her door.
"Ms persephone? I thought you might like some blood. May I come in?" she hears the voice of a human servant a young woman who had taken it upon her to see pers continued in her nourishment and did not allow her body to die. pers opens the door telekinetically
"Come in dear, just set it beside my bed please. Thanks, why don't you go out and enjoy the sunlight hun. It will do you good. Don't waste your time with an old woman who is past her prime."
The young woman comes and stands behind her removing the brush from her vanity and pulling pers hair back behind her head to brush it tenderly.
"persephone I do not waste my time with you. I care for you and it is my choice to care for you and see to it that you do not disappear." she combs through pers hair softly love in each stroke. "Whatever it is that pains you shall pass, and you will return to your former glory Mistress."
pers shakes her head and casts her eyes downward at the papers she is compiling into her memoires. She too hoped it would pass and found the young woman's tender care comforting and soothing.

Finishing her task the young woman braids persephone's long hair into a french braid, befitting the princess she had once been. Tears stung pers eyes, so much weighed upon her heavy heart she could sense the dawn approach and softly dissmissed the young woman.
"Dear you need sleep, the dawn approaches soon and I too must rest." the girl silently nods and curtsies then sets the brush back in it's proper place upon the vanity and walks out of the room shutting the door firmly behind her the lock clicks into place.
pers rises from her seat at her desk and is sadly thankful to feel the slight pull of the tiny hairs bundled into the braid, it is a sensation when she has felt so dead, as if she were just an empty husk of what she had been. She walks over to her wardrobe and loosening the lacings on her bodice she lets it fall to the ground, she slips off her skirt as well placing both into a silver hamper beside the wardrobe, then she removes a soft robe and wraps herself in it. She shrugs into the satin fabric and smiles as she feels it against her skin, closing her eyes. She silently walks over to the table in the center of her room and lights incense as well as the candles lining her vanity, allowing their soft fragrences to relax her and bring about sleep.
Turning back the blankets she lays herself down willing the blankets to cover over her broken body as she falls into a fitfull sleep.
~*~*~*~**~*~*~*~*~*~*~**~*~*~*~*~**~*~*
There's a man looking into her eyes, no a vampire. His looks were handsome yet no more extravegant than a mere peasant. she hears him address her and hears something familiar in his voice.
"My dear would you care to come out and look to the moon with me, I hear that it is most beautiful tonight being the winter solstice."
He stands and places his hand in his pocket, smiling he knows that it is still there. "First my dear please open your cookie and let's read our fortunes a loud to each other."
"Sure" she hears herself readily agree, "Well honey, shall I read mine or would you like to read yours first, let's decide before we open them."
To which he slyly replied. "I'll go first unless you want to Master."
"That would be great please open it and read, I am at the edge of my seat here waiting to hear what yours has to say. Do you believe in these things at all? I haven't had one come true yet."
The vampire laughed. "Well there is always a first time. I've not ever had one either."
Her other self laughs, and begins to open up her cookie with her long nails, painted black with silver stripes diagonally on them. "Your right there's always a first time."
The cookie splits in two revealing a thin white strip of paper; she holds it up and reads it aloud. "Tonight is a night you shall never forget. Keep that special someone in your life close and you'll be fit to be tied."
She hears the thougts of her other self "I wonder what that's supposed to mean...but I think I'll follow its advice anyway. Though I didn't need anything to tell me to keep 'that special someone' close by." she's all smiles and embraces the vampire, giving him a soft kiss on the cheek.
"Huh, that's an odd one, wonder what it means." the vampire slides a bit closer to her and he then sets his cookie on the table. Suddenly he brings down a tightly closed fist onto the cookie. It instantly disappears leaving nothing but dust in its wake.
She suddenly realizes who he is "Master219?" she asks herself. "Why the heck is he calling me love! And why do I look like that around him? What's going on? Is this a cruel trick of my mind against me?" she frets.
Master laughs slightly as persephone seemed to jump a tad at his antics.
"Surprised you didn't I dear?" pers laughs, and relaxes again. Shaking her head and smiling she replies. "You sure did, love. I definitely didn't expect you to cremate that poor cookie."
"Well now let's see what it has to say," Master picks up the odd little paper and looks at the words on it. "It says. "Many friends are near and dear, enjoy your time with friends and better drink, dance and be marry." He then looks around the room and says. "Gee that's funny the only person I know here is you, so we have done all 3 on that list, see I told you these things never come true. What do you say we go get that breath of air?" He slyly suggests.
persephone watches herself in horror. "Is this not the pire who was engaged to my sister? What is he doing?" she cries out.
Master stands up and puts out his hand for her to take, and she delicately full of her formerly ever present grace places her hand in his. He helps her to her feet like a perfect gentleman. Once she is standing next to her he places a long deep passionate kiss on her crimson lips. Her leg tilts up in the moment of passion, she nibbles on his lip as if only to tease. They both head for the revolving door and slide in to one section together. As they enter the door way Master tilts his hat at a lady and she smiles his was without being noticed by her. As they step out the section of the door the chill of the night air hits them again and renews their being. They walked around looking to the moons and stars hovering in the night sky. "You know, I believe that we should go back in for a few more dances shall we? There's quite a chill out here."
"I think you may very well be right, my love." she notices him reaching into his pocket and wonders what he is doing. The beautiful sky entrances her and she seems to be floating in a world of her own with the love of her unlife. She is suddenly brought back to her surroundings by him asking if they should go back in.
"umm, yeah sure. That's sounds wonderful. I don't know what you were talking about when you said something about not being a good dancer. You're the best dancer I've ever danced with. I would dance with you forever."
persephone watches her behavior and feels her stomach become queezy. "What am I doing" something connects in her mind and it suddenly becomes clear. "This is what my mother spoke of! I bound to him?!" Her hands shake in disbelief. Had she truly loved this vampire only to have that love broken? Was this why she was so haunted and pained by her broken love with Alex? This was not the first time she had had such happen. It was finally starting to make sense. Though she now felt no love or compassion for this vampire she had been his princess when she ruled over The Angels of Darkness. She had felt a connection to him that worried her but she could have never imagined this is what caused it. She had left The League of Shadow Demons not long after coming to The Sun Clan as an Ambassador. Things had gone awry and she felt betrayed by them. So many had turned against Dracconius. She could not stand to see her friend stabbed as they had done. They had refused to stand for family! They refused to protect him! She had been outraged and informed Carol and her Queen Desire that she was leaving the clan.
She had wandered the city alone for a time, various clans sending her missives or even representatives trying to draw her in yet none seemed the perfect fit for her. Her dear friend Thom had come to her and informed her of a dear friend of hers building a new clan. As it had happened she had left the same day the Queen had as well as her dear friend Thom. She was immediately drawn in, her friend had been an idol of hers, one she to this day considered her mentor. She followed him back to Kriegerhaus though not long into her time there Desire felt compelled to leave. Something had come up and the clan was passed into the hands of Madame` Errie, better known as Ms Errie who had become as a mother to her, she had taken her as her sire the first after Joseph's death.
"Well my feet can sometimes move very well other times I can't dance I cant walk, the only thing about me is the way that I talk. Lets head in for some more of that nice slow dancing, I think we are closer then I have ever been to anyone, even before this unlife." They walk towards the door and see many people moving around the room and Persephone wonders what's up, as they head through the door. Not wanting her to see anything yet he plants another deep passion filled kiss as they walk through the revolving door. master219 speaks again "And now we are all gathered here...My lovely Pers, I have loved you for such a short time...I promise to love you until I cannot any longer as you know I will..."
pers scoffs at this claim of undying love "yeah just like all love..."
"You are my half, the only half that completes me and turns me whole... I have completely fallin' and dont wish to rise from this...persephone..."
"yes my love"
*pers gags at her words*
"Will you make me the complete and most happy vampire in this city of undead..." "Of course my love, as it would make me the happiest vampiress in the city."
*"oh yeah just like I've said how many times now?"*
"Will you marry me?!?!?!"
"Of course Master"
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
persephone wakes up practically shooting out of her bed. Her nerves worse than they had already been. She grabbed her cell phone and quickly called her mother. "mum...I need you to be honest with me...did I actually bind to master219?"
"yes you did, though the memory was taken from you by HIM when you left us to try and resolve things there...think back and I'm sure you can remember, if you've remebered this much. I'm sure you can remember it all...though you were very shaken when you returned m'dear."
persephone takes a deep breath and thanks MsErrie then sets her phone down. She climbs out of bed and showers then sits back down at her desk trying to remember yet unsure she wishes to remember all that went on if it truly was as terrible as MsE had implied. She considered calling one of her sisters or Boomer who had been present she knew that much.

As the night wore on pers found her mind speeding away and that she could find no solace ignoring the memories that had returned to her in her dreams. How does one treat another whom they have forgotten they were wife to for a time? It made sense. He had acted to woe begotten when she had returned. She called her sister and childer Hitomi to ask for her advice. Using the blood bond between the two she summons Hitomi.
“My sister…I need your wisdom and grace. I…I…I just need you…” tears well up in her eyes and her voice becomes weak as it chokes on the knot forming in her throat.
Hitomi closes her eyes feeling the bond between her and her sister and sire persephone being strained. She focuses on the words whispering through her mind. Hearing the strain on her voice Hitomi quickly dresses and throws on a cloak.
Throwing open the cabinet with just a tad to much strength in her rushed actions to reach pers she quickly gathers items into her chest. She was very afraid of what had happened and wanted to be prepared for anything, as always time was precious and limited. It was the most valuable essence available and the most expensive to waste. Satisfied she closes the mahogany chest and hastens out her door into the billowing winds.
The wind drove at her back urging her on, her hair whipping the stray strands of her hair into a frenzy biting into her exposed flesh. Lines and creases of worry decorate her fine porcelain face. Her pointed ears taking in all the sounds of the night she hastened through the streets and back alleys of the cold unfeeling city. The pain around her permeated her soft flesh and heart, she truly was to kind hearted towards the riff-raff and discarded of those humans who she passed. It was only a matter of time that their lives should end and she saw quite plainly that death covered their faces in its cruel pallor.
Though there was naught she could do to ease their sufferings and allowed her spells to shield her heart from them. Her feet carried her swiftly to the Ravenblack City Park and from there she took the forested path to the underground passageway, feeling the peace brought her by the wooded oasis in the midst of the concrete edifices. No longer watching her steps before her for the quickness in which she moved along the path she stopped suddenly coming upon her desired grove.
Taking soft deliberate steps she bows her head to the trees and comes upon the largest tree in the small grove. She passes her nimble fingers over the harsh bark and finds the appropriate knot and delves her fingers into it, releasing the spring and the small door from the base of the tree. It swung silently towards her and she crouched to the ground as she passed through the small doorway it revealed. She felt a warm breeze comfort her face and she welcomed its healing power upon her lips.
She carefully placed each foot before the other along the narrow path, her elven stride seemingly effortless. Though it usually was the nights frantics had put fear into her and she found her concentration was necessary to remain afoot. Only the small blue flame she held in her hand illuminated the dark tunnel and shielded her from the harsheties, which would come upon those of lesser caliber and ill intentions. She had assisted her sister in crafting the tunnel and had placed spells both of protection and repelling upon its dark walls.
Passing door after doorway she finally came to rest upon the doorway leading to the Castle of The Angels of Darkness, where she sensed her sister’s presence the strongest. She brusquely walked down the tunnel the stone floor soon giving way to tile as she came into the basement floors of the Castle.
“Where are you sister? persephone please tell me where you are.”
Her sister’s reply came swiftly “I’m in the High West Tower Hitomi.”
Destination in mind she walked carefully to the magnificent stairwell. It spiraled first made only of wrought iron which soon gave way to beautifully ornate wooden stairs which in turn became carpeted as she ascended. Upon reaching the ground level she found herself standing upon the plush carpeting at the end of the hall, which had once been pers thrown room. It was dark and less kept than it should have been giving Hitomi’s softened face a pained look feeling her sister’s pain.
She walked across the far end of the hall and began ascending a great extravagant staircase. Her footsteps lost to the soft carpeting that adorned it in steadily darkening hues of red. The effect upon looking at the staircase from the throne room was it faded away into nothingness as the light was so well masked it made the area above the stairs simply invisible, hidden from sight of those in the room. It had truly been a sight to behold, one she had cherished.
Her feet left the last step and she ascended yet another spiral stairwell this time it was made of stone and enclosed within a closet like door. She was sure to close the door softly behind her and followed the last few steps.
“No…she couldn’t install elevators could she…” Hit chided herself as she came upon the room to see her sister sitting upon her bed tears falling cascading down her face. She rushed to her side sweeping her into a tight comforting embrace.
“My dear sister, what has befallen to place you in such state. Please let me take your burden.” She holds pers closely willing the healing balm of her touch to enter pers and bring her much needed peace.
“Hitomi…I…I just don’t know what to do. I’ve found myself remembering things…I was bound…” her eyes plead with Hitomi’s searching for understanding and wisdom.
“Yes you were…to master219” she could sense her sister’s unease. “You seemed happy at that time with him but things went awry and your nightmares soon returned. You were come upon by demons in your brother’s tavern. At the time it was the Stripey Dragon which you in effect burned down…now in it’s place stands Devil’s Desire.” Hitomi explains carefully unsure what pers remembers and what she does not.
“This forced you to return to your realm.” She stroked the ward on her sister’s back, though it appeared as a tattoo it truly was a ward and she could feel it warm to her touch. “How much of your journey into the Shadow Realm of yours do you remember? I think it is time you released your memory my sire.” Hitomi’s eyes held nothing but love and strength for her sister and sire. Her free hand stroking pers offering her peace.
“Knowledge is power and you have been holding yours within you, allowing it to suffocate…it is not healthy. This past dealing with Alex I think has awoken you my sister. Things will return to your memory and you must embrace them and the lessons learned from them you should apply in your life.”

Persephone nods silently listening to her sister. She tries to think back where her memory began to become fuzzy and watches as Hit stands up and blowing gently lights a small candle. The flame dances and she finds herself drifting back to the moment the pub was on fire. And farther back she felt herself drawn to the night in the Stripey Dragon where they had materialized before her brother and Boomer.
*************************************************************
Out of the corner of her eye persephone notices a male enter the Stripey Dragon. There's something off about him but she can't quite place it. His dark locks seem to create a fallen halo around his golden face, which is a bit pink for a vampire. persephone stops dancing suddenly and watches him. There's something that bothers her about him, but she can't seem to clear her head enough to figure it out. She turns to Boomer,
"what's up with him? I can't even see straight, let alone figure out why he bothers me so much. "
pers does he best to walk over to the bar, she needs blood to help even out her own life source pumping though her webbed veins. As she walks towards the bar it seems to be stretching farther and farther away from her. She panics and reaches out in front of her. She closes her eyes a few times trying to calm herself down. When she looks back at the bar it seems as far away as it had before only familiar faces, ones that had haunted her youth are sitting atop the counter taunting her.
Her breathing changes and she suddenly gets very cold. She feels like she's been petrified. She cannot move a muscle. She looks down at her feet willing them to move, to get her away from this place. Away from the creatures before her. They refuse her panicked cries and remain still. She tries to scream out for help but cannot tell whether her mouth moved or not, nor can she hear anything but the voices belonging to the faces beckoning her.
She hears a voice nearer her and her eyes widen in utmost fear. She KNEW that voice, it was him. Her tormentor. She swooned but remained on her feet; and looked up in front of her. There stood a man with a darkened face; his features barely recognizable. Chiseled nose barely shown from the shadows cast over his face. His harsh lips that she had known once to be soft. She tried to speak but her throat shrunk upon itself loosening the seal only to allow small gasping breathes. He spoke in a deep rough guttural voice
"persephone, so we meet again. You knew better than to put yourself in this position. So you shall suffer the consequences. I now turn you over to those demons from the world you created trying to escape. The creatures you turned on when you tried to escape the world you created and return. "
It was a blessing to those cursed to see his face that his grotesque face was sunk so deeply in shadows. He faded into the shadows before her eyes and she closed her eyes blinking back tears. Only master219, her love, had been able to exile these creatures from her, but he was occupied. She opened her eyes again and before her stood two beings.
The one on the right hand side stood a good 6'7 towering over her 5'10 stature. His floor length amethyst colored hair grew beyond him leaving a train of purple behind him. His hands lay outstretched reaching towards her with pools of crimson blood overflowing onto the ground before her. His eyes shown with a green envy towards her through the hair that covered his facial features from view.
To his left stood his female counterpart slightly shorter yet still towering over pers. His raven black hair grew over her face and hid her from view. It was ratty and unkempt, in contrast to the taller of the two. There was blood in its locks and bits of sticks seemed to protrude from within it. The woman's hands were outstretched as well towards persephone only they were palms forward grasping at pers with their long dagger like fingernails pouring forth fountains of blood from their tips and her palms.
pers reached forth her own hands at her creations. Well more so the demolished results of her once beautiful creations. She had created a world of her own to dwell in during her mortal existence. When life had become harder to bear than she could handle she had run away from it all and created a world of her own to hide from her problems. The taller of the two demons before her stood there unmoving yet whispered hiss like thoughts into her mind.
"You did this to me. You forsook your creations and left us. When you left us you made us become what we are today. You shall live our terror."
All she could think through her terror was "I had to. I couldn't remain there with you all. I had to go back. I could no longer hide from my problems. I had to face them." she pleaded mentally.
She tried to breathe in but found her lungs still refused the air around her. Her limbs grew cold and she could see them losing the slight coloring they had possessed. She couldn't move yet she sensed a presence around her of peace. She wanted to badly to reach out to it but couldn't.
Something was holding her up had caught her but pers couldn't tell what or who. pers looked past the creatures unable to reply towards the bar and the faces belonging to those who had seated themselves upon it. She looked into their eyes darting around throwing taunts her way. She could scarcely hear them but their words stung like a cold frigid dagger thrust into the deepest corner of her heart. pers left hands flung to her heart without her will and her right hand was drawn towards the two before her. Tears streamed down her face and she opened her mouth as if to speak though no words escape her swollen tongue. They shouldn't have returned she had kept her promise to
Another creature reaching the minute height of her torso thrust his hands around her outstretched wrist and pulled her forward. pers tried to cover her face with her free hand as she was pulled nearer and nearer the demons before her. Just as she should have gone through them they seemed to slide or float across the floor in reverse. Pulling themselves toward the direction the shorter creature drug her.
The disembodied faces behind the bar threw out jeers to her, and cheered for her captor. She was helpless against them. She called out to her tormentor for mercy and his only reply was harsh unforgiving laughter and
"You showed no mercy unto us. Why should I show it to you, my queen"
"You showed no mercy to us..." his words stung piercing her undead soul. She felt pangs of guilt come over her, was it true? Had she truly forsaken them? Shown them no mercy? Tears continued to fall from pers face wetting the ground before her. Out of the corner of her eye pers thought she saw Boomer. She wanted to reach out to her, call her, but she didn't want to draw attention to her. Or what if she really wasn't there? How could she be?
The creature pulling pers stopped suddenly and pers saw a smirk come across the female demoness face. She spoke, and the words making no sense to pers. Then pers realized where she was, she was still in the Stripey Dragon with Boomer, Aries, V, Sin, and others. One of them must have called her out. A fear for her friends came over her and she forced her tongue pleading.
"Do not hurt them. They are my friends, do not hurt them..."over and over. pers pleas are seemingly ignored and she silences.
She suddenly feels as if her flesh is onfire. That she is being burned unalive. The pain is beyond description, but it is a physical pain. She can tell this much. She screams in agony, how are they doing this to her?
Her minds eye changes to the past and she remembers where she has felt this pain before. When she was zeroed. She had grown strong and had offended someone greatly and they took it upon themselves to punish her. Holy Water had been cast upon her. Her throat opens and allows the sound to escape as she screams in agony. She can smell it, her flesh burning one of the foulest scents she had encountered.
*************************************************
Hitomi watches her sister holding her in her arms. She knew this had to happen; pers had to remember all but she knew pers mind was strong enough the pain was real. Hitomi watched the wounds on pers skin appear willed on by the strength of her mind. She attended to the wounds anointing them with salve and healing balms to ease the pain wracking her tortured body. She gently closes persephone’s eyes and lays her seizing body upon the bed setting her head upon the soft cushioning pillows.
She hated to see her sire in such condition but knew there was naught else she could do but to allow the memories to relive themselves fresh in her mind. Persephone seizes again and again, her body tossing to and fro. She notices Persephone calm slightly and wipes her brow with a soft cloth. Placing her hands on pers forehead Hitomi peers into pers mind she sees her speaking with Boomer, Boomer bringing her solace. She hears discussion of the creation of a realm and looks down kindly into pers face. Such things were not to be dealt with foolishly especially by one as strong as Persephone yet she had done so and suffered the consequences as all are deemed to.
**************************************************
pers smiles a bit.
"No, I don't have any unpaid parking tickets at the mental ward. When I was still a human I dabbled in a bit of magick that I had come across. The goal I had in mind was to create a world of my own to escape the world around me..."
pers gets up and begins to wash her hands in the sink beside Boomer so Boomer doesn't get wet.
"I succeeded in creating the world I wanted, there were people, trees, anything I wanted. I loved it." pers eyes sparkle a bit as she thinks back at how it had been and the happy times she had had. "I was able to maintain a life in both worlds, until I met Joseph. My first sire, the one who turned me." pers eyes darken and hurt is apparent in her eyes.
"I fell in what I thought was love with him. He stole my mortal heart, and convinced me I no longer needed the world I would hide in. And so I called all those who had been my advisors those I wanted to leave in charge, and told them I was leaving. The being I had put all of my love into and who had been my partner my second in command begged me not to leave. I gave him my power over the place. When it became apparent to him that I had made up my mind he turned biter against me. As I left in order for me to be able to leave, as I had made the mistake of giving him my power to leave as well, I had to promise him two things."
“So let me get this straight, pers… you owned an alternate universe complete with your own army of monsterous people? Oh, this is rich!” Boomer doubles over in laughter then sits up again, “I’m sorry, pers, but I just gotta ask – what color is the sky on your planet?”
"well I wouldn't say owned...but created yes. I was very effective. And they were definately not monsters. They were the most beautiful creatures you'd ever see." pers can't tell if Boomer is taking what she says seriously or not but continues anyway "and the sky in my _world_ was just like a normal sky. Only it would lightning and thunder a lot because I've always found peace in the beautiful rythmn of rain thunder and lightning."
persephone wets some more paper towels and washes off her face, thank goodness she had worn waterproof tonight! She opens her purse and brushes the top portion of her hair back into a messy bun and leaves two doo-dads down to frame her face. At least with the top layer up it looks cleaner, that's one plus to thick hair!
"When I left because it was...well is I guess...a part of me and I a part of it, it tore. And they became distorted as time passed. The beauty they once held now has been replaced by ugly evilness. And he I guess has decided upon coming back when I let my guard down...like getting drunk..." pers shakes her head at the sheer stupidity of her choices tonight, and wonders if she can even expect Boomer to believe her with how incredible her story seems.
“Now that you have left that sire and taken another one, maybe it is time for you to reconcile your leave and make things right with your past? We all have a past, pers, and we have all made mistakes. Yours are just… um… global, shall we say?”
"Perhaps it is time, I just don't think I'm sure about how to go about it to be honest..."pers looks down. She finishes cleaning herself up and walks out of the door thanking Boomer for holding it for her.
***********************************************
Persephone awakens with a start, her fingers clenching the bedding below her. She opens her eyes carefully unsure where she is and sees her sister at her side and her eyes well up with tears.
“Hitomi…I burned down his tavern…though that was the night I met my brother and since then we have been inseparable. Aries has seen me through so much; I am forever in his debt.”

Her thoughts are once again interrupted as she feels that familiar fogginess enter her mind. She concentrates on the incoming telepathic message and hears Gringa’s voice enter her mind. “Hook, line, and drinker.”
Pers chuckles “perhaps that’s what I need tonight…” she turns back to Chris and gives him a nice smile, even though she’s slightly disappointed not to feel his fingers in her hair any longer. “If you’ll excuse me I’m going to see if I can find a nice dancing partner. Too bad you’re on shift” she winks.
He gives her a sly grin “To bad soo sad…unless the boss tells me I can…” he hints and she laughs.
“Nope; the boss is a mean cruel lady who doesn’t allow things like that from her best bartender.” With that she walks off into the crowd feeling his eyes follow her, she lets her body start to move with the music.
Her eyes are caught by a man in his mid 30’s, typically she’d go for one a tad younger but from the looks of him he could be a nice challenge. She even found herself wanting to reach out and run her fingers through his hair.
She grins and soon begins dancing with the male. "Not bad for a mortal" she appraises him..."I wonder how good he'd be as my thrall..." she grins and grinds against his pelvis with her own. She places her arms over his neck and laughs inwardly at his appraisal of her.
She sees a smile cross his lips and her becomes a tad more aggressive in his movements. He attempts to tuck her waist length hair behind her ear in order to see her face more clearly and she blushes. It was always a nice touch to make herself seem more mortal and encourage her prey to get the blood singing within their fangs.
She smiles at him and puts her arms behind his neck opening herself up to him more knowing he’ll find the view tempting corsets only hid so much from view. He smiles appreciatively and then blushes as he notices she sees what he’s looking at. Her fingernails trail over the back of his neck and she enjoys the warmth rising from it playing across her own fingers. As he gets bolder placing his hands on her hips and tracing her body, she can feel her fangs sharpen and wills them back. It wasn’t late enough in the game to reveal her true intentions or nature…just yet.
"What a foolish mortal" she thinks, and decides to have a bit of fun with him. She leans forward and whispers in his ear "Care to take this somewhere a bit more private?"
As he grins and nods she takes his hand and leads him to a back hallway and kisses him steadily moving down his neck towards his jugular. "Oh he smells soo good." She breathes in his sweet succulent scent.
pers tele's her sister Hitomi "Hey...can I bring home a toy? pwetty please? I want this one as a thrall...or do I have to kill him?"
"NO, understood, NO, sis the last thing they’ll want you to bring home to the tower is a thrall. They’re so much work to keep up. GOT ME!"
She laughs at her sister’s mock anger and fiercely drives her fangs into the male’s neck, drinking deeply. She sends enzymes into his blood causing the bite to be pure pleasure for him, ceasing the pain. The fiery liquid dances on her tongue and she savors it...so much better than bottled even when warmed.
"I wonder...I mean I just can't let such a fine specimen go to waste...I could get so much use out of him..." she grins and retracts her fangs having only taken a pint; “Nothing worse than giving a blood donation at your local Red Cross.” She comments to him. She slowly licks the wound closed kissing it she then kisses him once more.
"Come back when you've regained your strength my doll. And I will make it worth it to you..." she grins turns around blowing him a kiss and sashays down the dark hallway back into the main room. She licks a droplet of blood from her lower lip and heads back into the crowd wondering if she’ll get a chance to use her tools tonight or not.

persephone looks down at herself realizing she’s in bed. “Did you place me here? I’m so sorry…” she trails off tears coming to her eyes. What was happening to her? Was it even beneficial to be reliving these things?
“Yes I did Persephone, and there’s no need to be sorry. As you’ve always said ‘no worries’ “ Hitomi smiles at her warmly and hugs her gently. She walks over to the cabinet and withdraws two glasses and fills them with blood. Bringing them over to pers she continues, “the only thanks necessary this time” she winks “is for you to drink this glass of blood dear sister; you need your strength. I believe it is not good for you to stay here in your tower. As well as I have duties to attend to in the temple sooo…”
Her words trail off and pers finds herself at Joseph’s bedside. His usually well kept hair disheveled and she can see the life leaving his eyes. He’s given up…just as she had almost done. He didn’t have the support system she was lucky to have. She made a mental note to never take them for granted, her brother, her sisters, friends and family galore. People who loved her, and would do anything for her surrounded her. Persephone watches silently as she sees her past self kneeling at Joseph’s bedside. She remembered well the pain in her heart at that time, she had felt so much loss of hope. If her sire could not bear to go on with the constant turmoil how could she hope to do so herself? The look in her eyes had revealed so much to her, she had hoped to make him proud of her. Had hoped to bring him joy, an equal partner, yet she had failed. She had come into this world of darkness and night without the strength needed to bring him what he needed. She had regretted her choice to become a vampiress that night. Even gone so far as to pray to the Lord of her mortal life that he would take her immortality from her that she might live out the rest of her days as a mortal and be no more amongst the walking dead.
One fellow nightwalker had given her a reason to go on, she had left him in the park. He had seemed somewhat attractive to her and he had selected her basket at the picnic. She had put in Andes mints amongst other menu items and it had caught his attention. They had always been a favorite of her as a mortal and she still kept a package hidden away now and then enjoying the taste. Though she had found the longer she was a vampire that she could consume mortal food and it made her not have to hunt as often, although it would often make her very ill if she did not accompany it with blood in some form.
She could see his long amethyst hair and muscle shirt in her minds eye, even as she watched the bittersweet exchange between her past self and her turning sire. Drac had been a great friend to her had even shown her a few ropes of the city, although she had surpassed him in most respects now days as he had left the city in order to defeat the Demon Pazuzu, and he had always been her goal to judge herself against. Her competitive drive brought her to try and complete her classes as quickly as he was able though her time was shorter. She pushed herself harder and harder, taking in everything she saw in order to try and best him. Pers laughs at the thoughts as they pass through her mind. What childlike foolishness had become her back then, and now she had been everything she could have ever dreamt of accomplishing, she had gained the courage to leave her clan at the time The League of Shadow Demons, she had helped establish a great warring clan, The Warriors of Eternity, she had successfully built her own clan and though it had been short lived she had done it with The Angels of Darkness. She had risen to be a well-known and respected vampiress, yes she had enemies and those who hated her with a cold-blooded furry yet she was still relatively well liked. She had managed to preserve her word and keep it as pristine as possible.
She had had many heartaches and losses yet those that did not in the end defeat her only made her stronger and better equipped to help those around her. Perhaps it was true that she was to kind of a vampiress, that she was not cruel and evil enough to truly be one of their kind, there was something that had always held her back from turning entirely to the dark side. There had always been a light within her and it was seemingly inextinguishable even through the many efforts and deeds, which were brought upon her by those who considered her their enemy. Many a night as of late she had spent thinking over her accomplishments, in an effort to write her memoirs that those she loved once she moved past this unlife would know her life’s story from beginning to end. Yet she found there had been many parts that grew hazy in her memory, and she could not for the life of her remember what had happened. She could not remember much before her turning, only bits and pieces remained in her memory. A sudden flash of bright light erupted before her as she heard a door softly shut and her own voice weeping on the outside of it. She watched as Joseph stood from his bed, his wounds seeping, and opened the blinds revealing himself entirely to the rays of the sun.
Without thinking she dashed across the room and jumped in front of the uncovered window, hoping to shield him from the burning rays yet it did nothing. The rays bore into his flesh tiny spirals of smoke rising from his exposed flesh. Tears soon began to swell in her eyes and she watched as his body began to be consumed in ashes. The spirals rose from his flesh and beneath them his pure blemishless skin began to darken and she saw him age centuries before her eyes. The skin on his body shriveled as his face grew distorted with the agony of pain that wracked his undead soul. White was soon replaced by a yellow aged parchmentlike tone and his hair lost all color turning snow white. She could not hide the horror on her face as she watched his skin fall as ash to the floor and his bones left standing in position. She could see his organs some still filled with life and his lidless eyes pleading for the anguish to end. She composed herself enough to embrace him and bring him to lay upon the ground, resting his head upon her lap as she gently stroked his shriveled head.

“pers?” Hitomi questions, panicking because of her unresponsiveness. “pers? Are you here?” her face quickly loses its color and she shakes persephone’s limp body trying to revive her.
Pers awakes with a gasp of air “I was holding Joseph. It was terrible…” she begins to sob into her sisters lap. Hitomi comfortingly runs her fingers through her sister’s hair, whispering soft murmurings trying to calm her.
“It was when he went into the sun Hitomi…only I was there for the whole thing. I watched myself leave…heard the door close behind me even. As I saw him opening the blinds I threw myself across them but it was no use. Though I held him in my arms as he became ash…it was horrible to watch. Though I know now that he truly did pass away instead of the hope I had that he was just hiding from all of us.” She realized she was rambling and quickly closed her mouth.
“I’m sorry you had to witness that Persephone…though now you know with a surety of his passing. That should bring you comfort, as knowing he was not alone as he passed. You were there to comfort him. Now I think we need to get you someplace different. You need a change of pace my sweet sister. " She looks worriedly into her sister's eyes.
"At the present I must return and adhere to my duties in the Temple of Dracconius. I feel my presence is needed and I think you need to leave TSC. You need to be with your brother and sisters right now. I want you surrounded by family at all times. I will not make you come with me to the Temple just yet but for now I want you to go and visit your brother. I believe you can find him…” she pauses a few moments concentrating to find persephone’s brother Aries location. “in the gardens at The Empty Spiral. He will give you wisdom and strength.”
As Hitomi finished speaking she rose to her feet and began packing persephone’s things. She called to the servants in TSC to pack her belongings there as well and have them sent to AoD Castle. She shakes her head seeing the disarray pers had left things in due to her fits. They would get to the bottom of this.
She wondered if Persephone remembered the last time she had fallen into hysterics like this. How she, Hitomi had returned to her the wings that were taken once pers became a mortal and left the courts on high. Perhaps that is what had created the bond between them to be so strong, Her service in the various Temples as first a priestess then as High Priestess had brought her closer to the Gods, she had known Persephone before she had fallen from grace.
Before she had chosen to become a mortal in hopes of becoming greater than she was. Persephone had in her mind the goal of becoming a Goddess one day, to follow in the footsteps of those before her, but she had not proven herself and the only opportunity available for Persephone to prove herself had been to become a fallen angel, one who walked among the mortals was in fact mortal herself forfeiting her place in the heavens in order to gain something greater.
She knew Persephone had lost her way somehow and lost herself as well. Persephone had a much greater history than she could remember, and Hitomi was one of only a few who knew most of it. Unfortunately the tedious process of bringing her memories back was weakening Persephone and was wreaking havoc on her unlife.
She finally finished packing everything necessary for pers visit, then tidied up the room. She notices persephone’s tattoo in the center of her back and smiles softly. She had done a good job at it, she was not highly skilled in in the delicacies of skin artistry but she had done well with her sister as her canvas. It was one of the strongest wards she had ever cast and the spell had taken so much out of her in of itself it had taken her weeks to recover.

persephone tenatively walks past the gates, it had been quite some time since she had passed through here. She needed home, yet no where quite felt like home anymore. She missed her family, though she was gaining quite the experience she was homesick and wanted to come home, wherever that truly was. She drags her feet along the garden paths wandering while singing softly in her mezzo soprano voice. Her words carried themselves as an Aria rising high above the clouds, she sang of home and all that came with it. Something had drawn her here, it quite possibly could be her brother and sisters here, though she was not as close to them as she could be she did value her connection to them.
The smells of the flowers that had survived so long into the fall time wafted to her and she reveled in the life of it. She had lived so long amongst the walking dead that she often forgot the magnitude and strength in life. With all that had happened she had taken her own unlife for granted. Perhaps it was time to live her life rather than just going along for the ride.
She knew she would need to make a decision soon yet she was drawn in so many different directions. Unlife had provided her many many opportunities and so many were wonderfully granted. She smiles thinking of those that had bid her welcome to live amongst them, even whilst she still resided at least officially in the halls of The Ivory Tower as a Solar. The neutral lifestyle was one new to her and she had at first found solice in it yet more so when she allowed herself to think she wondered if she was just hiding herself from whom she truly was and where she belonged. She knew her sister's doors were always open to her, yet there were so many she knew not within her halls.
She missed her brother terribly and found herself feeling lost and without a purpose without him. Yes she had a bloodtye once again to him though it was not nearly the same. She missed seeing his face, going into battle with him. Watching HW burning their victims...there was so much that she missed. Yet if she chose to return to that life she would forever be banished from the saving halls of the place she had considered her home away from home for so many years. It was no secret amongst those that knew her that she was debating and churning in her mind the decision and she knew the time would come soon she could no longer deny who she was and had to know for a surety.

Hitomi made arrangements for a taxi to pick Persephone up, unsure whether it would be wise to have her read a SoTel who knew where she might end up? Persephone sighed as she heard her sister on the phone knowing she must be looking terrible in order for a taxi to be called in. She slips on her ankle length leather jacket and finishes up with her boots. Grabbing a pony-bob (for those unfamiliar with the term it refers to a hair tie or elastic) she gathers her hair into a ponytail, then twists it into a messy bun. She reaches over to apply a touch of eyeliner and the bun falls out. “GRRRRR!” She clenches her fists in frustration. Then takes the top half of her hair and repeats the process, this time the pony-bob isn’t quite as stressed and holds it just fine. She combs through the lower half of her hair and grabs her bags.
“Hit…should I write a letter to everyone telling them what’s going on?” she asks bags in hand. “Oh yes…I didn’t think of that…you need to let TSC know what’s happening.”
Pers opens her desk drawer and draws out a fresh scroll, why they still used scrolls these days she didn’t know but knew that it would at least look prettier that way. In her most fluid handwriting she wrote.
Dearest Friends and Family of TSC,
Firstly I wish to thank you all for being the friends to me you have through the past year. I've greatly appreciated it and I even more so did when you welcomed me into your home when I had lost so much through betrayal and such. I hope to continue these friendships throughtout the rest of my time in the city. I shall always hold in my heart fond memories of TSC and will always speak highly of the family here.
It is with both sadness and new hope in my heart that I inform you all that I shall be taking my leave of The Sun Clan and going to be with my family. I've learned that that is what I need most at this time and where my strongest bonds lie. I am miserable without my brother Aries and my sisters. (Yes I will miss being in the same clan as you siren) I will miss many of you and dealing with you. You can always contact me on my cell, and I'd be glad to hear of any news here. As for quite sometime I have felt this place as a home away from home.
I'd like to thank Godsmack for bringing me here as an ambassador and thank him for introducing me to all of you. And all of you for the friendships that have blossomed with me here both on all levels. As it always stood since I have come within these walls, should TSC need me do not hesitate to call upon me. I bid thee farewell my friends.
With love and respect,
pers
She read it aloud to Hitomi who in response nodded “That sounds wonderful hun. I know this is hard but it’s for your best interest. You need to be with your brother. And I’d like to see more of you as well hun.” She teases her with a wink.
The Taxi honked outside and pers looked around her once more and summoned the young lady who had tended to her so well.
“Dear I need you to get this to Boomer of The Sun Clan. Thank you….” The girl nods and quickly heads towards the Ivory Tower.
“Ok sis…let’s go…they’re waiting on us.” Pers grabs her things and leaves the tower locking it behind her. There were some things she wished others not to see there and when away it was always locked.
She stepped into the taxi leaning her head down because she was so tall. “These things are not meant for people of our height sis!” she laughs and lets the cab driver take her things. Watching out the window as they passed the various city attractions, she saw Obsidians Tower, and The COVE and Darkest Desire’s Chambers and shook her head. So many things had happened, “How could so much happen in a single year?” she asked accidentally voicing her thoughts. “There are 525, 600 minutes in a year dear sister. Much more could have come to past.”
The taxi stops too soon and pers finds herself at her sister’s gates and takes a deep breath. “Here we go…” she comments as a servant meets her at the gate taking her things. “Hit said he was in the garden…that’s where I’ll look first.”

Pers walked into the gardens admiring the beautiful work of her sister’s gardeners. This was her sister’s home to her, yes there were others who dwelled within its walls but overall this was her sister’s home and she knew she’d be welcome. She glances at the sky and realizes dawn is soon to approach and calls over a male human who appears to be a security guard of sorts.
“Excuse me sir,” she begins and he quickly bows before her which causes her to roll her eyes slightly “that’s not necessary.”
“Oh yes it is ma’am! That’s how we do things here.” He stands attentively awaiting instructions.
“Will you please lead me to a guest room and inform Jers that her sister pers is here taking her up on the invitation?”
“Yes ma’am” he begins then she interrupts in a stern non-joking manner
“Call me ma’am one more time and I will have your head. Call me pers.”
He nods quickly “Understood. Pers. You aren’t perhaps Persephone are you?” he asks fear leaping into his eyes.
“Yes that would be I, why do you ask?”
“umm…I’ve just heard others speak highly of you and your…ummm…tendencies.”
“Ahh, well then I’d advise you to stay on my good side. Wouldn’t that be wise?”
He nods quickly and takes her bags “Yes pers. Right this way m…” he stops himself “this way miss.” He leads her through the front entrance holding open the door and then up a staircase, which leads into a hallway. She follows behind him, taking in the unfamiliar surroundings. She made a mental note to compliment her sisters on the décor.
He finally came to an ornate cherry wood door and after fumbling with his keys he opens it for her. “If you are in need of anything Persephone, call me on my cell.” He hands her a business card. She nods and enters the room. Looking around she takes note of everything in the room, where it’s located and distances between furniture. She starts taking strides between the bed, door, nightstand, tables, couches and all else.
He finishes quickly and she walks over to her bags pulls out a pair of dance pants and a fitted tee then throws them on and falls into bed exhausted. She is whisked into a fitful dream almost as soon as she lays her head upon the pillow. Shadows surround her and as the fog clears she finds herself in her crypt, making preparations. She watches as though she were doing it, although she didn’t make any conscious decisions. Suddenly she hears her own thoughts;
“I’ve got to be going away for a time. There are so many things I need to deal with…alone…my love would go with me in an undead heartbeat but I did not dare tell him of my plans,”
“WHOA! LOVE? MY LOVE?” she pauses to think again “ooh I was bound to master219 at the time…”
“How does one explain the past? My demons had haunted me long enough. It’s time to face them. Time to overcome. I cannot allow them to make me live in fear. The faces have become more apparent than ever now and I’ve found my power to keep them at bay not only waning but lost. I will not secede to them, I will fight with all the strength I have within me and I know I have the support and my love family. I’ve only told two of my intentions though, Ms Errie, and Aries. They have both seen the pain, those beings that plague me, they know at least to some length why I have to do this.”
Persephone then watched herself as she silently gathered a select few of her belongings, leaving all she could in the case she could not return that they might keep her memory alive in the undead hearts of those that knew and loved her, to bring them comfort and solace.
Her own memories playing before her eyes brought tears to well up ‘neath her eyelids teetering precariously on the edges of her lashes.
Taking one more look around she lifted master219’s pillow to her face, smelling his familiar comforting scent, then laid it down along with a letter to him of her love, sealed with a crimson bloody kiss. She closed the door and telepathically called to her sire and brother after resigning to the shadows.
“I take my leave; you two alone know how to contact me if the need arises. The link between us alone will remain open. Be safe and well.”
The tears creep over the threshold of her eyelids and trail down her cheeks.
With that she read a scroll of teleportation it taking her to a pre-prepared black cherry wood coffin. She takes a deep breath holding the dagger that had bound her to both her sire and love tightly gripped in her hand and laid herself down. The motion sensory device triggered and sealed her in her self-induced grace. She knew her body would be safe here. She had taken great precautions. She slowly closes her eyes and begins toe ancient changers she had learned in her mortal life, those that had placed her in the situation she was in now…
Persephone’s minds eye opens further and she begins to be able to make out clear images. Then a voice enters her mind…his voice…the voice of her tormentor. She wants to pull away hide…the rough sleek harrowing voice speaks
“Ah so you’ve decided to return now, have you? Don’t think for a moment you will regain your power here. You gave that up when you deserted us. You are under MY rule now.”
Persephone cannot help but shudder as she hears his voice once again.
His maniacal laughter flooding her mind she concentrates all of her energy on keeping him from her fear. She knows he will feed upon it, and grow stronger. Her body lies as still as ice, not even a flutter passes her eyelids. She has fallen into her deep unconsciousness. She has returned to her creations.
pers eyes shoot open and she is standing in a barren wasteland. Rock…everything is made of cold hard unfeeling rock… tears wash over her face and fill her eyes as she looks at what has become of her utopia. The ground is hard and cracked, full of vast crevices that once held great rivers and fountains. The air has grown stagnant and stuffy. She feels a weight bearing down on her and feels woozy.
“Excuse me ma’am?” she hears a soft unsure young voice approach her. “Where has all the water gone?”
persephone turns towards the voice and sees a little girl. There is something so familiar in the little girl pers kneels down before her and looks into her eyes. They are so sad and lonely. The look of despair and fear in them touches her heart; it grabs hold of her and brings back memories from her childhood. When she was a young girl so much had happened. She had been unable to do anything back then, she had been helpless and weak. She had sworn to never allow herself to become helpless again. That it would never happen, to another if it were in her power. She takes the young girl’s hands in hers and looks into her eyes full of compassion and empathy.
“Sweet child, I know not where the water has gone. I have not been here in quite some time. Where is your family?”

As pers finishes speaking the girls innocent eyes widen, and darken. She sees a shadow pass over the young girls face, and the girl starts to back away.
“Oh please, don’t let him come near me. Don’t leave me. Persephone do not leave me. If you do he’ll get me.”
persephone looks behind her and doesn’t see anyone. Wait?! How did the girl know her name? Who was she?
“Who will get you dear? I will protect you. You just have to tell me from what you need protection.”
persephone holding the young girl’s hand begins to stand, and the girl fades away into nothingness. pers falls backward startled, “what’s going on? Where’d she go?”
As she falls backward she is caught by a pair of strong masculine hands. And she looks up into his chocolate brown eyes.
“So nice to see you dear”
He grins maliciously at her. Her own eyes widen and fill with fear and dread. She tries to get to her feet and run, but his touch has a paralyzing effect on her and she is helpless. All she can do is lay there supported by his arms eyes full of fear.
“What no retorts pers? Where is your sharp wit and fiery spirit now? Well perhaps we can do something about that.”
He snaps his fingers and a wooden chair appears. “Sit.” He commands sternly, and she finds her legs moving of their own accord. She fights back as much as she can but does not have any control. She feels like crawling up in a little ball, hiding, falling into a hole and never getting out. Suddenly she hears the cry of one of her students echoing in her mind. It would best be likened unto a wolf’s.
She is manages to keep her tears inside, not allowing him the gratification of seeing her cry. She feels as if someone is tearing at her flesh with spikes. She tries to scream, but he will not allow it.
“You are to remain silent my dear. No screams shall escape your tongue. Besides it’s not that bad…yet” he adds with an evil grin. Rough cords shoot out from the chair binding her tightly against it. She manages to swing her legs forward only to have them wrapped multiple times and dragged against the legs of the chair. Here boots making a thudding sound as they strike against the solid oak. She winces in pain; she can feel the cords biting into her soft flesh. Her hands are left free although her torso and below are bound to the chair.
“Look at me.” He barks at her, and she looks down. “You dare disobey my command? This is no longer your world dearest. It is MINE!” he spits in her face. “Now I said look at ME!” her head is suddenly tilted up towards his face by unseen hands.
She trembles with fear though does not weaken her resolve to not allow him the satisfaction of her tears. Her mind reels with the pain and she thinks of her love Master219. She turns her memories back to the night he first held her; The comfort and love he had for her eased the pain.
“Much better” he smiles approvingly, “I knew you’d be willing to oblige dear. I noticed your _friends_ calling you persephone. Is that what you are going by these days? pers? It’s almost fitting isn’t it? I mean what you used to be, how you were; The Queen of the Underworld, the wife of Hades. Yes…quite fitting, considering where this place has gone. It’s your fault you know…of course you know how could you not.” As he goes on he paces first in font of her chair, then around her chair. She is forced to watch hi, as if his hands directed her every breath. She fought at first but soon gave up, realizing how weak she had become here, and that the minimal strength she held needed focused on keeping him from her thoughts. . He waits her reply, then becomes angered as she refuses to speak.
He leans towards her and presses him mouth to hers crushing it almost to the point of bruising, had she been a mortal they would have been bloodied from the pressure with which he kissed her so punishingly. She was bound, frozen in place unable to fight him and found herself even wanting to return the kiss before her mind turns back to master219.
“Aren’t you going to explain love?” She feels the bindings of her tongue release and spits out
“You are NOT my love. Do not call me that. I love my family and master219. NOT you!”
The words sounded vile and cruel coming out of her mouth, so much in fact that she retreated afraid of the consequences. Her heartbeat slows as the bindings on her arms and legs slow down the circulation through her veins. She does all she can to relax her muscles to allow the blood to flow more freely.
“I can see you’ve not changed one bit dear. But why did you return to us?”
As he says _us_ more faces begin to appear distorted, ugly faces. Their features melted, the skin dripping down like the wax of a candle and she turns her head, away from the grotesqueries. She closes her eyes, then feels them flung open against her will, burning the images into her mind.
“I did not say you could close your eyes love.” His French accent she had once been so attracted to adding to her torment, “I want you to see what has become us, we YOUR creations.”

Two creatures she knew very well, ones who had often visited her, haunting not only her dreams, but more recently in the Stripey Dragon. The one on the right hand side stood a good 6'7 towering over her 5'8 stature. His beyond floor length amethyst colored hair grew beyond him leaving a train of purple behind. His hands lay outstretched reaching towards her with pools of crimson blood overflowing onto the ground before her. Through the hair that hid his facial features from view, his eyes shown with a green envy towards her.
As she saw the pair her blood ran chill, her muscles grew taunt, and she felt suddenly ill. “Some things will never change…”she murmers to herself as she lives through the memories once more.
To his left stood his female counterpart slightly shorter yet still towering over persephone. He raven black hair grew over her face and hid her from view. It was ratty and unkempt, in contrast to the taller of the two. There was blood in its locks and bits of sticks seemed to protrude from within the depths of matted black. The woman's hands were outstretched as well towards pers only they were palms forward grasping at her with their long dagger like fingernails pouring forth fountains of blood from their tips and her palms.
They drew nearer to her provoked by her tormentor and she was helplessly bound to the chair. She knew these two, they had been among her closest advisors only second to him.
They had helped her build this world, they were once more comely than even than the Elven folk. She had created them then filled them with her intelligence. The woman was born from her empathy, the man her war craft and book knowledge. They knew every secret of her heart and how to read the secrets of others they came in contact with. She wished to reach out to them in her heart. To brush the female’s long locks and return her to her former glory, but the other half of pers heart wanted to flee. She wanted to hide, and die. The male reached out over her lap allowing the blood falling from his hands to pool on her lap. She wretched at the sight of it, usually blood would add to her hunger but this blood was fowl, it was the blood of the innocents pouring forth without mercy. The stench turned her stomach and she wavered, only remaining upwards because of her bindings.
The female just looked into her eyes pleading, and she spoke to pers with them
“Why did you leave us? Look what has become us? I was once beautiful as you. Now I am hideous and afraid to show mine face. Why couldn’t we make you happy? The one secret you withheld from us.”
Her words caused pers to become wracked with sobbing. Her heart ached and she relinquished the tears. Each carving their forsaken paths down her cheek, leaving a crimson trail. Her tears burned, Oh how they burned! And HE smiled; this was what he had wanted. She plead with the two for forgiveness. Her heart and shoulders were heavy.
Then a voice trickled into her mind,
"You are ours dearest persephone, and no one can take you from us."
She lifted her head and looked her tormentor in the eye,
"I do not belong here. I have my family, my clan, and my love. This is your world now."
As she said this his eyes filled with fire, and everything around the two of them dissolved leaving a black room, and her still bound to the chair in the center. He stepped back into the corner.
"Not yours you say? Do you not remember? Did we mean that little to you?"
The wall directly before her suddenly lights up and a film rolls over it's smooth surface. She can see herself as a young child, sitting on her bed, crying, hugging a stuffed teddy bear with all her might. She leaves yelling and angry footsteps coming down the hall. She runs into the corner of the closet and hides. It's so dark...but there is a comfort in the darkness. He can't see her; he can't hurt her in her little hiding spot.
She hears the door open to her room and hold's her breathe. Her father yells some things, bangs on the closet doors then leaves. pers looks down form the film and before her stands the first little girl.
The pain and torment she sees in the pairs eyes along with the young girl, who she had come to know as Rosette brought Persephone to tears and her heart ached swollen with remorse for them. She felt in her heart the love she had once had for this creature, her tormentor and those who were with him now.
"Please don't let him hurt me." she pleads, "love me, you won't leave me alone will you?"
The little girl kneels down and grasps onto pers skirt pleading eyes with tears careening down her face. pers looks into the girl's eyes and reaches out, the bindings on her hands release from the chair and pers lifts the girls head.
"Do not fear little one. I am here. I love you. I will always love you. He cannot harm you. I will not let him."
persephone looking into the girl's eyes suddenly realize why she looked so familiar. It is her. pers looks at the picture playing on the wall then back to the girl. This is pers as a child.
"If you love me, then why did you leave for so long?" The girl asks innocently as a child to her mother.
"I do not belong here little one, my Rose."
In the corner HE grins with anticipation. Yes HIS plan was working. She had always been far to compassionate for her own good. This would make her stay. She would return as his Queen, just as she had been before. Then HE groans in frustration as she replies of her not belonging here. She was the key to this place. Without her nothing went right. His anger fueled, and he called another daemon to the room.
The girl dissolves in pers arms as does the chair. Her bindings turn to cuffs and chains and she is left on the floor.
*******************************************************************
persephone’s body lies still though her cheeks are smeared by crimson tears. Her eyes race beneath their lids and every-once while a muscle twitches. The smell of burning incense permeates the senses and calms. The room her body within its coffin lies in is deathly silent and still. The floor is covered in stone tiles surrounding her coffin in the design of an eastern dragon, and the archway doors remind one of the old European castles.
It is dark but for 3 torches, lit and positioned at perfect degrees creating an equilateral triangle around her coffin. They are offset by 3 archways, and the floor is clear from all debris. The archways and torches together form the greater seal of Solomon, better known as the star of David.

She looked down at her hands, what was keeping her here? Why had she even come? What was here that she had come after, or to accomplish? She had lost sight of her objective. She closed her eyes and could feel something clutched in her hand. She felt it piercing her flesh and she looked down at her palm. Blood poured forth from it and she quickly brought it to her lips drinking the precious liquid afraid to lose any she possessed.
“How did my hand just start bleeding?” She asks herself.
“Do you truly not remember child? Have you been pushed so far as to have forgotten who you are? Or Where you are for that matter?” he asks.
She again closes her eyes to think, and can feel an object in her hand. She can feel a cold metal, along with jewels of some sort, pressing into her palm.
“You are ready…”she hears him whisper.
“That’s it! I’m not here am I? I’m asleep!” She shouts. And her mind returns to her. “But how can I return?” she asks in her mind.
A picture forms of a vast garden, filled with plants of every kind imaginable. The colors are magnificent and she reaches out towards them only to open her eyes and realize she is back lying on the cold stone floor her wrists and ankles bound in cuffs. She looks over to where the man had been and sees no one. She realized who he had been. He was the older man who Joseph had brought her to, before turning her. In the old gothic church, in Chicago, after the concert they had attended. But how had he been able to reach her here? She had had no contact with him since that night.
She walked towards the largest archway and stopped at the solid walnut doors. Their height and what they symbolized stops her in her tracks. Beyond those doors lies the path to her freedom, from this place, from all of them. She pulls the doors and they creak open protesting her exit. A heavy weight heaves down upon her shoulders and her feet seem to become laden with lead. The night air is crisp and bites at her face. A black raven fly’s across her line of vision and a tear forms in her eye. It makes her homesick. Oh how badly she misses her family, her clan. How would her childer be doing without her? What about Kuroko? She had just left him in the pub. She runs her thumb across the edge of her blade. She walks forward into the darkness. Her fingers are like ice from the biter wind. She looks around her trying to get her bearings. What was her destination? Was it not true that in order to reach your destination you had to have one?
“Well what would make most sense to me would be home. I want to go home. Where would home be here? I will have to return to the castle I shared with him.”
She shudders at the thought. So many lonely nights had been spent in that place. She feels what warmth the room possesses flee, and knows He’s returned.
“So you want to know how to return dear do you? Well I will tell you one way to get what you want. Just be sure this is what you truly want. Can you hold this on your shoulders?”
As he speaks he telepathically sends her pictures of the devastation around her that had been the result of her past exile.
“You did not keep you promises love. You told us you would always love us. You’ve forgotten us. Moved on. The only one you still have love for is the child.”
As if on cue the child walks out of the shadows behind Him, walking forward till he lays his hand on her shoulder guiding her to stand before him, as a father would his daughter. She keeps her head down and her eyes to the ground and pers quickly stands begging her legs to hold. The chains rattle and cry out against her sudden movements. She rushes over to the little girl and embraces her, pulling her away from her tormentor. pers heart wishes to take the girl away from all of this, yet she knew the girl would only half exist, in her own waking state.
“You are loved little one, remember that always; no matter what happens.” persephone turns to her tormentor knowing he will know exactly the matter of her question.
“It’s your choice dear, after leaving this place you will find yourself in a maze of sorts. You are on your own. If at any time you either reach your destination, which you alone decide, or change your mind and take this amulet into your hands to call me. But word of warning do I give my love. You have but one chance. This land is not the land of 3 chances, ‘tis only one. You will determine your own fate. Trust whom you will, but remember you are on your own.”
Boomer’s words echo in her mind “Your demons are only strong because you allow them to be…”
Persephone shook her head as she watched herself whispering the words on the wind best she could, knowing not whether she would hear herself or not. Boomer’s words of advice had been both true and untrue. On the one hand the demon’s fed and were strengthened off of her fear and the gifts she had given them individually. On the other hand they had become their own beings now and she no longer had as strong a hold on them as she once had.

On the other hand they had become their own beings now and she no longer had as strong a hold on them as she once had.
He snaps and she stands up straight, the chains dissolve into the crisp cold thin air. She cannot seem to break her gaze from him, she feels something for this man even if he does mean her harm. She once gave him all her love, all that she had had to give at that time of her life. He had been her equal, her head advisor; she had created him to fill an empty void in her life, one she desperately needed to fill. She had been so foolish then, yet a small corner of her heart did indeed belong to him, microscopic as it was.
She feared him greatly, yet she would always have a certain weakness to him. She had created him perfectly, everything she had imagined in a man…he was. Her mortal mind had been so naïve. She shakes her head at the thought. How could she have been so foolish? She hadn’t fallen for him as she had Joseph, yet she had loved him in a selfish way. He had been made to be everything she could have wanted; yet she hadn’t realized what she had really wanted. She wanted to be loved for who she was, by an independent person one who didn’t love her because that was the reason for his existence. His too had been a half-life. That is why everything had gone as it had when she left. They had depended on her for too much, but that too was her fault.
She wanted them to need her, it made her feel useful; made her feel worth something, even though it was a falsehood. She had only known true love once in her unlife or mortal life for that matter, and it was what she shared equally with master219. He was her one and only love, the only one who completed her. Yes she had felt full with others, but she had made them whole more than they had done the same for her. master219 on the other hand he seemed to complete her entirely.
Pers scoffs at her own former self’s admiration of this vampire, she had seen him grown weak. She couldn’t see the greatness he had once held in her eyes, he had proposed to her sister xSin_Angelx and broken her heart, he had done so much ill she held nothing but contempt for him now.
She closed her eyes and squeezed her fist into a tight ball and willed her dagger to enter her hand in this realm. She could feel it there and hesitantly released her grip. Opening her eyes she tentatively looked down into her hand, although she could feel the weight of the blade in her hand and the cold metal, she still was unsure what all she could actually do in this place. It was apparent her sorcery skills were greatly strengthened here and she took this as a good sign. She had been worried for weakness in this now foreign Realm.
She breathed a sigh of relief as she looks into her palm at her dagger. This dagger held a very special place in her and it completed her link to her sire, and through her sire to her blood-brother Aries. It could have completed a link to her love master219, but this she chose to keep back. She knew he could feel her pain and she could not allow that to happen. She could not bring him more pain than he already had.
Listening to her own thoughts again her present state of mind adds, this is also the dagger I keep with me today. I recognize the blade, it bound me to Alex Wolfe, and my former daughter ladypeacek both whom nearly killed me with pain. This is the dagger I used when I severed MsErrie as my siress and took Aries as my sire. It was one thing she would never allow to be taken from her.
She felt the restraining cuffs on her wrists and ankles had been removed and she moved her fingers in a smooth circular motion palm up. A blue flame burns in the center of her palm though small it provides a comfort. She smiles, perhaps Boomer was right. They were only as strong as she believed they were, and the reverse was true she was only as strong as she believed she was.
She walked towards the largest archway and stopped at the solid walnut doors. Their height and what they symbolized stops her in her tracks. Beyond those doors lies the path to her freedom, from this place, from all of them. She pulls the doors and they creak open protesting the stress on their ill used joints and ultimately her exit. She feels a weight heaved upon her shoulders and her feet seem to become laden as if her shoes had turned to lead in the passing moments. The night air is crisp and bites at her face, and the moon rises triumphantly in the sun’s sky.
A black raven flies across her line of vision and a tear forms in her eye. It makes her homesick. Oh how badly she misses her family, her clan. How would her childer be doing with out her? What about Kuroko? She had just left him in the pub. She runs her thumb across the edge of her blade. She walks forward into the darkness. persephone’s fingers are like ice from the biter cold wind. She steps out into the cold dark night, the wind cutting to her very bones.
The doors open into a courtyard of sorts, the ground is paved in a dingy natural stone. Before her are three choices: on her left there is a grassy path, not unlike the one she had seen in her minds eye when the man form the church had graced her with his comfort. On the right hand side is a pitch-black pathway beyond a stone edifice. The path in the center seemed to be the source of the chilling wind, and was neither dark nor light. Words from a poem she had committed to memory as a mortal come to mind.
The Road Not Taken- Robert Frost
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler, long I stood And looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth.
Then took the other, as just as fair, And having perhaps the better claim, Because it was grassy and wanted wear; Though as for that the passing there Had worn them really about the same.
And both that morning equally lay In leaves no step had trodden black. Oh, I kept the first for another day! Yet knowing how way leads on to way, I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-- I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference.
She ruled out the first path, it seemed too appealing. Something just seemed faux about it.
“That leaves two,” she says in hushed tones.
It certainly wasn’t a wood but she would go with that infamous poet’s wisdom and she took the darker path. It felt as if she was walking straight ways into the lion’s den, and she held onto her hope for dear unlife. She takes one last glance at the more medium path and dagger in hand ready to take down anything in her way she heads into the archway to the path that lay within it.
The first thing she notices is the air is still, yet not quite as stuffy as she may have suspected it to be. She feels her confidence growing. Thankfully such darkness does not hinder a vampire, although light did make things easier she was used to walking dimly lit streets and dark alleyways. Her eyes glow a fierce red in the dark and spiders weave their tapestries in the corners between stone blocks.
Walking forward she notices an amber light some distance away. She stops as she feels a gust of wind blow across her face, raising the tiny hairs on her arms and back of her neck, scattering the tiny tendrils that framed her ivory face. The gust of wind had been warm, and she looks around trying to find its source. Heat was a good thing, and it meant perhaps an exit. There doesn’t seem to be any openings near her or the direction she supposed the gust had originated from so she continues walking on. The sound of her heeled combat boots striking the cold stone floor echoes predominately over all other sounds.
She can hear a whispering but cannot deem its source, or message. It reminds her of something or someone but she cannot seem to remember.
"WhyhaaavveyouCumear?" She hears it again, and spins around quickly trying to catch the origin.
No one seems to be behind her so she turns forward again and quickens her pace. The hallway or tunnel whichever it be, would have to end sometime wouldn’t it?
"What was it saying?" she asked herself repeatedly. "Who was it?” or “What is it?"
Finally her nerves get the best of her and she stops dead in her tracks and in a booming voice, much unlike her own questions
"Who are you? And what do you want? I have every right to be here, do not question my authority."
"Question your authority? What authority? You haven’t walked these tunnels in many a year. Not since long before your exile. You don’t have any authority any longer."
A raspy old voice returns. It is indistinguishable whether it be from man, woman, insect, or beast. The voice does not however seem to carry its own strength; instead it seemed to be magnified whether by mages spell or mechanical design.
“Where do I know that voice?” She asks herself again, then It dawns on her this was not how she usually heard this voice this voice was usually more youthful. It was the tall demoness.
“I know who you are. Reveal yourself my counselor.” persephone commands the creature behind the voice. The woman begins to fade into view at persephone’s side.

“Much better. Now what do you want? Haven’t you tormented me enough Sitt al-Sirr? Your fun is over. I’m not interested in playing your games any longer.” Persephone chastises the demoness. Her patience has run thin and she just wants to get home as soon as possible. Thinking through the words He had spoken to her before casting her into this journey she decides the only way to return home is to return to where she had called her home when she had dwelled here. She knew it to be in the center of the tunnels, paths, and corridors that made up the mazes.
Persephone watches the interchange between herself and her confident and shakes her head slowly knowing that Sitt al-Sirr was torn between both masters and would never be entirely loyal to either.
Sitt al-Sirr looks at pers sadness in her eyes. “I never meant to hurt you my Queen. I had no choice HE is in control now. We have to obey him or else…well I won’t go into that. Time is of the essence persephone that is what you are called now? I want to help you. HE hasn’t forbid me offering you assistance and until he does I will continue to do what I can. You still have power here; you just have to remember how to use it. You have power over him but that same power HE has over you. Could you not see the pain billowing in his eyes as you lay bound? Just as you made it in the beginning, I feel you pain, as does HE.”
persephone listens silently, unsure whether to believer her or not. She had once been pers most trusted advisor, dearest friend. Would she betray her? Could she even? Taking a deep breath pers wraps her arms around the trembling woman and speaks comfortingly.
“Sitt al-Sirr do not allow yourself to be overcome. I believe you. I will listen to you counsel. Though I feel it unwise to stay with me at all times. I feel this is something I must for the majority do on my own.”
“Yes this is true Mistress persephone. Do you remember the old man? I believe he tried to contact you, did he manage to do so?”
“Yes, we spoke briefly. He brought me much hope and comfort.”
“Do you remember the vision he gave you? You must find that place he showed you. That is the first place where you can begin to free yourself; though we shall miss you. You meant everything to us. When you left, HE destroyed us all. He keeps saying you did all of this. It was him, not you. He took out his sorrows, his frustration, and his anger upon us; as he could not seem to reach you. “
pers could see the pain in her face and wanted so badly to remove it, to take away all of the pain in this place. Was it possible? Could she? It would mean she had to stay here, forever…She would never see Master or her clan, again. Her heart heavy persephone starts walking again.
She speaks “Ok so I have to find a beautiful green area? Sounds simple enough. Can you tell me what direction? Am I headed the right way?”
The woman fades away as if summoned elsewhere and pers is left alone again to walk the lonely tunnel. Realizing she is alone once more Persephone sighs.
"Well I knew it couldn't last very long. But first thing is I have to reach the end of the tunnel."
She starts walking faster and ends up in a strong jog. She can see the light growing stronger and can feel its heat. The light seems to be growing brighter. She can feel it's warmth and wonders if it is safe. She closes her fist and the flame goes out. She can hear voices, small children's voices. She slows down her jog as she reaches the end of the tunnel, it seems to be slanting upwards and it takes more energy to climb. She can feel the air getting thinner as well. The light seems to be a floating oval at the end of the tunnel. She breaks out into a full run and *Thud * she screams in pain.
She longs to stop herself from going down the hallway, knowing the children who would betray her yet she knew it would be to no avail. She had tried with Joseph and no good had truly come of it. She didn’t know if he had truly felt her presence or not.
Her scream fades and has a strange echo to it. She can feel her body being dragged to the ground, free-falling. The wind, though its warmth feels good against her chilled skin, whips around her body lashing at her like a thousand bullwhips at the master's hand against the unrepentant servant. Pers begins to panic, how far down would she fall? What would she meet on the ground? The tunnel was to small for her to properly take flight although if she let out her wings slightly then it may slow her fall.
persephone concentrates on allowing her black feathered wings to only partially open, just enough to create a parachute effect and she can feel the friction against the air they create. The wind no longer whips at her face and she tries to see how far down the chute goes. There doesn't seem to be an end. persephone reaches out trying to grasp at the smooth sides of the walls. Her nails claw at the smooth surface, the sound is not unlike the screams of rabbits. She suddenly sees the ground rushing at her, a dirt landing. She braces herself for the impact and lands on one foot and one knee against the ground. The impact sends waves of energy like ripples throughout the room, and pers can hear the waves hit against others in the room. They seem to be short creatures and she stands to her full height.
"Hello?" she says in forced soothing tones.
She is returned with giggles and the sound of little footsteps scurrying about on the dirt floor. She can smell something it seems almost like fresh air.
"Hello Persephone." A small demure childlike voice replies and a young girl perhaps nine years old seems to just appear into the patch of light before her. Persephone looks down at the girl, not recognizing her in the slightest, yet still wishing to remain on good terms with her, she smiles warmly.
"Hello child, would you care to tell me where I have landed?"
"Oh well" *giggles*, "you're in the garden patch ma’am."
*giggles* "your silly looking you know that? You've got pointy teeth!"
pers can hear more giggles surrounding her and she turns around, more and more childlike beings entering the light. pers eyes widen as she sees them all, their faces are not natural colors instead they are pale purples, yellows, reds, and blues. They look like china dolls to fragile to touch, yet with such an irresistible pull.
"Yes I do have point teeth." pers replies with a smile.
She pulls her wings back in and two of the childlike beings take her hands in theirs and guide her along, skipping. Their presence seems to carry the light with them, and the path grows grassy after the tender touch of their feet. She notices the once bare stone walls are strung with ever increasing amounts of ivy. Her hands still held by the children she continues on, willingly following their guidance. The light increases and she begins to worry whether it will harm her.
" Light is not a good sign, although she did say I had to find the garden." persephone silently contemplates as the children chatter amongst themselves about her pointy teeth and long sharp fingernails. pers looks at the walls, not only are they now covered in ivy but she sees only green, and the occasional brown. She can feel their elevation growing, and can smell the scent of pines. The walls are no longer made of stone, instead they are now made of hedging. Upon the realization of this pers stops in her tracks, and holds her ground as the children pull her forward.
"Where are you taking me?" she asks suddenly full of suspicion.
"To the castle of course. Isn't that where you wanted to go? It's where we were told to take you. We are taking you the shortest route persephone. Through the garden." the small boy on her left replies in a sing-song voice.
She looks into his eyes, and can see no lie in them so follows willingly again. She begins to see patches of flowers, nicely kept, very much in contrast to the cold stone tunnels she had left. The air was sweet with the scent of fresh blooms and she could smell something familiar...what was it? The scent was sweet, yet fierce and biter.
They came to the center of a courtyard and in the exact middle of all 7 paths that led to it was a magnificent black magic rose in a black urn. The blooms over flowed on the bush and she dropped the hands that held hers drawn to the roses. She loved these roses, and tears came to her eyes. Yes this was her garden, and he had kept it for her. She knew these paths; she had walked them many a lonely day and midsummer's night. She took one of the roses into her hand. The scent carried her into a dream like state within her dream, the world around her began to fade away and blood dripped onto her hand. Though she didn't seem to notice, the children did and smiled slyly at one another. They were taking her to the castle alright but not for the reason she wanted to be there. They were taking her to HIM, he could not summon her himself but if she came willingly then he could control the terms. Her body fell back into the waiting arms of the children and they willingly caught her, carrying her towards their master. The path opened up for them, straight ways to the castle and HE could be seen watching from a tower window. A smile crosses his thinning lips and his laughter can be heard echoing throughout the castle. She was as good as his. He began to descend the stairwell to meet them at the door. He counted to 13 and opened it just as a young boy had lifted his fist to knock. “Very nice job my dears. Now if you would just follow me, I will lead you to the room where your duties will be fulfilled.” She lay there still as stone, her mind empty except for pure blackness. She could feel their tiny hands supporting her body, and she hears his voice. Panic rises in her chest, though she shows no outward signs of her fear. She feels no binding cords across her skin though cannot move a muscle. Her heart races though her breathing remains barely existent. As they carry her into the foyer he stops them, and runs his course finger across her satin ivory cheek.
